if the factor of new zealand players playing in europe didnt make them unavailable for selection...
who do you think would be the top 5 number 10's for the all blacks?

Probably the same as it is, but with Nick Evans at no.2
Jimmy Gopperth and Dan Bowden aren't top 5 - Luke McAlister on current form could be up there, still think his best position is 12 though, and Graham Henry doesn't like him

hrmm i suppose.... evans defo #2 mcalister wouldbe good.. dont know if i agree with teh bowden comment though controls well for irish

Honestly? he has two shots at it and failed both times, GH has gven him several chances but in the end weepu (a halfback) is a better option at first five than Luke

Hence, if you read the rest of the sentence, I said CURRENT form :p

I'm presuming this is the list of "potential" top 5, as opposed to "tried and tested"
e.g Nick Evans is easily the number 2, however he's not played in the All Blacks for years, he could be absolutely dreadful in a black shirt

Evans is definately my number 2. I prefer Cruden over Slade so i'd put him at 3. Don't know about 5 though... I've given up on Stephan Donald as an international level player so it wouldn't be him.

On current form McAlister would be number 2 for me, he's been very unlucky with injuries too, he was playing well for the blues this year until he got injured, same as last year, in fact injury has kept him out of the all blacks many times

Another worry is the future, there are a lot of old players we're gonna need to find replacements for after this world cup, but I know NZ will have them, just as long as they don't end up in Europe first
