Munster v Saints

As in if i'm honest the Saints players that worry me most is Lawes and Best in pack.

Although seen great bet today at 8/1 Best and Quinny to square up

Also Hartley could have to much against Fogarty although Fogs can produce big performance and it helps us Du Preez is around and the scrum is that bit better for him

Besty can't get a game at the moment, the back row is 6. Lawes, 7. Dowson 8. Wilson while Kruger and Lobbe are in the boiler room.

That said, the way Besty knows how to get up Quinlans nose, I'd imagine thy may find somewhere to squeeze him in next week!

Ha in Thomond though Quinny a different animal like Northampton will be in a place that in unknown to them

True, but I'm sure he got the practice in during his Ulster days![/b]
Ah no we kept him on bus :D

But Thomond in Magners isn't same as Heineken Cup atmosphere as everything is just that more intense.

Could say that about all stadia, the ante gets upped everywhere in the tense matches - Look at the French.

True but well there History here :p

French teams come and go (exclude Toulouse) we're always here and we always produce drama :p

George Hook just made a great point about the parallels between Earl's outside break for the Denis Hurley try in the first five minutes today and the O'Driscoll/O'Gara outside break cock up that gifted Australia seven points a few months ago.

Lethal move when it comes off, as it gives your 13 a load of space with no one in front of him, I'm just not sure If O'Driscoll has the gas to utilise it properly.

Then he goes and balances it off by suggesting dropping Wallace

Very happy with today's performance, definately see a future in the JdV/Earls partnership, seems perfectly balanced, crazy this is the first time they have played together.

Paul Warwick is just incredible, wonder how long we can hold onto him for, an offer from the Melbourne Rebels with the chance of playing for Australia might be too tempting for him.

Yes, Warwick is a great player. Not entirely convinced by Earls at 13 - wish he'd grow some hair: I keep crediting him with some of Warwick's great play! Earls has talent, but Warwick gets the best out of his talent by using sound judgment in everything he does. I guess it's easier for a fullback, because he has space and time to eye things up.

Earls was superb today can't fault him at all. Warwick was also very good and well he has that burst of pace that we've lacked in natural fullbacks.

As for Hurley surely he registering in Kidneys minds with current form as on this form he rivals Shaggy and Trimble but isn't it amazing all players from Ireland are beginning to hit great form.

As for Warwick going to Austrailia for shot at national team MunsterMan I can guarantee he wont because he'd be considered too old (as funny as it sound), he married to a Munster woman and settled here and he wouldn't get the same money.

Well the order of Irish wingers at the moment in my mind is:

Bowe
Earls/Shaggy
Carr
Trimble
Hurley
Dowling

Agree with that roughly although I think it hard to judge Carr as I dont see enough of him and well in Connacht he isnt playing at a standard required but yeah I think it about right except Earls is ahead of Shaggy. Also it great to see that such a thin line between them all.

Top try scorer in the Magners, 6 in the Challenge cup. Hhe plays in the same league as Bowe, Earls etc. and scores more for a far worse team. He deserves his shot.

What you need to know about Carr is that he has 4 tries in 7 Magners league matches and 6 for 5 matches in the Challenge Cup.

10 tries in 12 matches for any team is brilliant. For Connacht it's a mini-miracle.

I'd have it as:

1. Bowe,
2. Earls/Shaggy,
4. Carr/Trimble/Hurley,
7. J. Murphy/Dowling

Can't really separate Carr, Trimble and Hurley at the moment. Though I've a bit of of bias towards Hurley and I've seen him from the stands a couple of times and he has the work-rate of Dowling except he can finish + he;s a very strong runner when he has any space

Still don't trust Trimble under a highball (Hurley's got better in that regard since he's gained confidence on the wing).

EDIT:
But speaking as a Connacht fan, if Ireland are to have a realistic chance of winning the 6 Nations, Cronin, Keatley, Mathews and Carr all need to be starting.

Andrew Trimble should be fined ten euro every time he drops a ball. Not only would it improve his handling, t'would also keep the Connacht branch afloat for years.

Actually I just looked that up and he's joint top in the Magners League and the Challenge Cup.

Cheers for that like I've seen Carr but not enough to praise or slam him.
Agree with list except think Earls is ahead of Shaggy although maybe it hard to tell as we seen Keith excel in centre and not out on wing but he has given a good account out on wing in past.

As for Hurley he really has flew up the pecking order and as shown yesterday he is safe under high ball but also smart using it. Trimble I know is playing well but I always have viewed him as a player that when it comes to big games he folds so dont like when he is selected.

Also not sayin Carr bad or anything Feicarsinn but Carr has more tries because he plays alot more games than Earls and Shaggy and them

Carr is an excellent finisher (The best we have) but I'm not convinced by his all around game. With Lukey injured I'd have it as

Right Wing:

1. Bowe
2. Horgan
3. Carr

Left Wing:

1. Earls
2. Trimble
3. Hurley

Jonne Murphy and Ian Dowling good players but off the radar a bit.

I'd have Hurley ahead of Trimble but in IRFU set up I think that accurate
