Mr. Schmidt's Wild Ride - Ireland 2015 6 Nations

He was in your hole. He was playing well in a very strong Leinster team against teams which were a lot poorer. Sexton was completly safe.

I've read some of this argument but it's very long and it's a Sunday so I haven't read all of it.

I think it's a bit of a pointless argument tbh. If either Madigan or Keatley have to start a game against top opposition we're up **** creek without a paddle. I think Schmidt will pick Madigan but it really is flip a coing for me.

I think the more interesting debate is who'll be in the centres. A lot of us are presuming Fitz and Henshaw. I think the Wolfhounds selection may have killed that and it'll be Henshaw and Payne again. With HATTRICK HERO Cave not involved again to the annoyance of Ulstermen everywhere, especially Jim Neilly. Although he has scored more hattricks than Zebo lately so clearly he should start on the wing.

I'll agree with this. If we are relying on both to be our frontline 10s we are screwed. And I agree BG8. I know if Madigan is picked some will say it's bias but it's not. It's simply Schmidt will have his plan and pick accordingly. Both have major flaws but if Madigan were to get start its 1000 times more vital Murray performs with kicking.
Regards centre I've heard Payne and Henshaw and Henshaw and Earls combos trained. But presume Fitz will be on bench and Earls misses out.
Lol Zebo is bored of hattricks it's all about 2 tries a game now.

Ps you all set for finale of Fantasy Football

All set, haven't been able to pick everyone I want because of the combo bonuses.

Also just on this got email of 38 man squad. Nothing major just McFadden left out. I'm presuming it's to do with injury but interesting Cave is left in. Just when you consider they put Conway on bench last week and left Cave at Carton house.

If anyone can post link do please.

Gilroy out too with concussion. Squad will be updated after first 2 rounds

Ferg's apparently got a rib cartlidge injury.

Big win for James Cronin based on that I'd say and clearly DK is recovering nicely.

Well James Cronin was always going to be there as you need 3 and with Kilcoyne out and no one else challenging. Like it's been crystal clear Leinster and Munster both have 2 good LH props and these 4 are rated well ahead of rest v

I saw a number of Munster fans before tonight giving out because they thought Bent (best third choice loosehead in Europetm) was ahead of Cronin due to the WH.

I don't know and just going by recent squads it's clear them 4 are first 4. Cronin has played a lot lately due to Killer been out and didn't need game vs Saxons. McGrath did due to being out and Healy won't be risked. Healy McGrath Kilcoyne Cronin in that order is current status I believe.

So how many first choice 23 guys are we missing from that squad, just Trimble right or am I missing someone?

Donnacha Ryan and possibly Olding. Problem with it though is half the squad are injured or coming back from injury.

Do you think the Irish bench has improved to the point that it no longer incurs a drop in impact or quality in the last quarter of the game?

Assuming fitness...

McGrath for Healy, drop from the best LH in the world but not a huge one by any means.
Strauss or Cronin for Best, Strauss almost as consistent, Cronin offers more in the loose less at the breakdown.
Ross for Moore or vice vearsa, exactly the same tbh.
Second row takes a bit of a hit.
Murphy for PO'M or SO'B, similar to the LH spot.
Reddan for Murray, same again.
Madigan for Sexton, impact sub good off the bench, if Sexton gets injured we take a hit.
And we have plenty of depth in the outside backs.

We couldn't survive an injury to our halfbacks but apart from that we're ok.

Please tell me this don't mean you think Murray is same as Reddan??

Henderson is a hell of an impact player to come into the second row, Paulie's successor imo.
