Lydiate's a really good player but nowhere near as destructive as Ferris. Ferris and O'Brien are both better blindside IMO.

I think 2 Ferris and O'Driscoll are the best in their positions, both are pretty justified and it's hardly every Irish player.

Thinking about it Earls is abit over rated. He is a dangerous player and quite good footballer but other than that he lacks some basic skills like passing and tackling... well for a 13 anyway. It will be a real test for him this season but I think alot of young players are waiting in the background and could easily take his position in a few years. Gilroy and Conway are 2 which have the finishing of Earls but greater skills and potential in my opinion.

Yep I'd say Earls is definitely overrated especially by those from the "red" province

It really depends who you ask I'd have O'Malley or McFadden ahead of him there but I'd put him ahead of Earls.

I'll try not to go to far off topic.......

I personally am against moving players from one position to another as I think they will lack experience or consistency at a high level. If i'm being honest the successor of BOD is neither O'Malley, McFadden, Earls or Cave (although he would have been the best option if he hadn't gotten injured). The next 13 will more likely be Griffin, Farrell, Spence as those have more potential to become world class, whereas the others are not up to international standard in the 13 jersey.

Even though he was Ireland's top try scorer in world cup, if im correct he scored the same amount of tries as Israel Dagg and Adam Ashley-Cooper he was the joint 3rd top try scorer in the rwc 2011, where was the Leinster and Ulster players when we needed them, People need to lay off Earls on here its pi**ing me off.

From those named McFadden is actually an inside center none of the others have played there much or at all. From Coonor's further along the line options Spence is kind of being trialled there and personally I feel Farrall will move there. McFadden is the only one who's ready for international rugby at 12.

No stats are liars darn liars. People have to realise players can be good but still overrated. Earls isn't as good as Trimble or Fitzgerald on the left wing and behind everyone at 13.
