More Licence info released...

I was unaware any gameplay footage had been released for either game to compare animations?

Don't worry Blackie, this guy seems to have ZERO idea that this could be Sidhe's first REALLY GOOD sports game (others have been mixed). It's an automatic hit and HB have NO credentials, but we just never got the newsflash.

Iv actually played Rugby League 2 which drove me mad, it had good mechanics like being to run a angle off a pass, but then be crippled by some of the most inconsistent passing mechanics iv ever seen.

"Still I feel there's far too much fear in HB's legal advice. Too many "what if someone gets angry about you enabling this" type feedbacks. Enabling is not putting something into a game. Stop playing safe!"

What do you mean? Like you think that maybe they should of taken on board some of the ruck (highly detailed) ideas that have been suggested over the years ?

No. Absolutely nothing to do with that or indeed ANY of your posts on it that one. I'm talking about enabling people to edit the unlicensed and in general all teams to be within reason close to authentic.

On another note. A ruck contest does appear to exist in this game according to reports, and it's good but short, so I'm happy.

Can you post the video with the movements of the players?
I haven't seen that one yet

Or have you played the game? I'm keen for that too :)

Come on! You can't pretend not to see!

I hope with all my heart that my words are belied by the facts, but apparently the screenshots give me reason.

Look, the screenshots are identical, except for the graphics!

Then again, I really hope it will be a great game, but apparently it seems the usual product since the ps2

sorry for the english :D

I'd love to know where these "reliable" sources get their info from. TRF is the only place HB are talking.Only a handful of people have played it, all of them have either been full of praise or silent in approval because of the gagging orders. These "reusing everything from 08" comments are speculation from people being so unbelievably anal they want to nit pick any minor point they find. Or, even more the case, people who don't know what they're looking for and repeating the most outlandish comments they've seen written 15 posts earlier. Or, worst of all, Sidhe fanbois trolling like they're part of some elite crew (I notice they never mention the RC animations make every player waddle around like they've a carrot shoved up their arse). This rugby game looks a little like another rugby game which looks a bit like the sport of rugby itself, you say? Well **** the bed, you do surprise me.
Sorry if I offended you in any way...It's got nothing to do with being anal or misinformed - I'm not trying to convince anyone that this game is going to be a failure, not even myself. I certainly hope the game will be as awesome as the handful who've played it said it played but like most things, seeing is believing. Sure some of us might be nit picking but I'm not aware of any Rugby Union ***le being around for the past 3-4years, therefore us "nit pickers" and indeed other Rugby fans have been starved of any decent rugby gaming relevant to current times. Hence the nit pickers WHO HOPE FOR NOTHING BUT THE BEST from a newly announced ***le find familiar elements from an old ***le - and who said they were bad - but that was then. Surely new elements must replace the old but judging from some of the images, at this moment, unfortunately I see things that seem too familiar and not quite up-to-scratch for my moneycashmoney.

I think we have to keep in mind 3 things here.

1. HB made the previous games, and so you will see familiar content in the new game. The screenshots in parts do look like R08, but that isn't bad.. just a bit tedious and non-challenging, but very playable all the same.

2. The game will suffer some 'dumbing-down' as most people who will buy this, bizarrely, don't understand rugby. People who will buy this may well be just casual gamers in the main, and to that effect the game has to be simple enough to let them play the game and win without getting a headache as a non-rugby fan.

3. The game is for a limited market. They will only have a certain budget to fulfill our wants for licenses and also a great new engine. They won't be able to do both 100% i would have thought, so there maybe some disappointment.

I'm very glad a game is coming out though for current consoles. For me, a game that is a mix of the detail and thought of JLR and the engine of R08 (albeit a much improved version) would make this game great. I'm not sure whether to pre-order yet, because for me, i want to see something greatly improved with the engine.. and we haven't got that far yet.

The pictures look great except for one little thing. In the line out pic South Africa's hookers arms look really weird.... its just a detail though

In my opinion, the gameplay will be a lot more fun and pretty uncomplicated, in order for the greatest number of sales. Maybe this was a strategy by HB, if this game is a success, then they can build a dynasty of awesome rugby games.
For me, I would love the whole experience captured, all the technicalities, errors, everything. I'd happily participate in a South African style game (vertical ping-pong) as long as it's realistic
Sadly, apart from diehards like me, most people would be looking for a game that anyone can pick up and play, and this is what I think HB have aimed to do
Heres hoping that this game is a success and many more games come annually (no more 4 year waits pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)
Rugby challenge looks better in my opinion but, with 95 teams included and awesome graphics
Just my two cents :D

i can't believe anyone can look at the pictures we've seen of this game, and say anything at all bad. its frustrating to visit this forum for news anymore.

Rugby 08 all over again, without a doubt, everything resemble, even the pointless big screen in the stadium, with a freeze picture of a corner shot taken(not looking good)?!?! BUT, on lazy gamers review, we can all clearly see that the screen is "real time" with the samoa player kicking at goal(that screen resembles player movement).......BUT.....I CAN NOT WAIT TO HAVE IT ON NEXT GEN CONSOLE!!!!!!

Dont know what to expect from this, all we can do, is wait and see!!

I am pumped for a rugby game like no one will ever believe!!!!

i dont really care if the game is abit like rugby 08 because in my opinion it was a good game and i still play it on my ps2 from time to time

The pics still dont look great, I know we have waited 4 long years but does it mean you have to make the players look like freakin box men??? (see pic2). I havnt seen a rugby team all with the same build - have you??? (see pic4) If Rugby Challenge can get the right dimensions for players, ie taller, more muscular or just plain old fat!!! What are they doing over there? These players are all the same size and are box shaped. If thats Bismarck in the hooker jersey for the Boks Id say hes 40kgs lighter, the guy is built like a brick wall!!!! Show it!

Your looking at 3-4 of the players in that picture? I'm sure 3-4 of the players on any team have the same build, maybe that is just coming out of a scrum, you never know. These graphics are almost the same as Fifa 11 graphics when looking at them, so your talking rubbish. The game is not even out and you haven't even tried it and your criticizing when looking at 1 picture.. pathetic.

im relieved with the new screen shots looking a great improvement on the first screens im excited and can't wait any dlc likely to be released themes etc?

Completely disagree. I think we all know it looks exactly like rugby 08 in every way apart from the graphics. PLEASE stop posting.

finally! 100% agree!!

come on! It's a next-gen game in 2011.

I really hope that the game is beautiful, but I have a lot of doubts, unfortunately.
And then look at the players, all with the same pose, but heck, we are at the end of this generation of videogame and still get these errors? Sorry, I hope that HB really publish a video of gameplay as soon as possible so that my words are denials. Please HB, shock me!

again...sorry for english!

Yeah, of course.

And I hartily agree with your right to express you opinion. Especially when you're critical of one overly while heaping praise on the other. For completely made up things. Makes one think, "hmmmm, there's someone who's not got an agenda".

The only people likely to be upset about those points (et tu) are the ones uncomfortable about a few home truths being highlighted.

looks amazing but i hope they have more lineout options than it looks like
it looks like the lineout will be the same as 08 thats disapointing

Can't help thinking Rwc 2011 will not have the longevity seeing as we can only play as 20 teams.Rugby challenge has 95 teams?
