Tuesday 6:35pm kickoff local time, should be a good one.

Teams

WALES:
Matthew Morgan, Eli Walker, Tyler Morgan, Scott Williams , Tom James, Rhys Priestland, Gareth Davies; Rob Evans, Scott Baldwin, Tomas Francis, Jake Ball, Luke Charteris, Josh Turnbull, Ellis Jenkins, James King. Reserves: Kristian Dacey, Aaron Jarvis, Rhodri Jones, Bradley Davies, Ross Moriarty , Aled Davies, Gareth Anscombe, Rhys Patchell.

CHIEFS: James Lowe, Toni Pulu, Anton Lienert-Brown, Andrew Horrell, Sam Vaka, Stephen Donald (c), Brad Weber, Tom Sanders, Lachlan Boshier, Mitchell Brown, Michael Allardice, Dominic Bird, Hiroshi Yama****a, Rhys Marshall, Mitchell Graham. Reserves: Hika Elliot, Siegfried Fisi'ihoi, Atu Moli, Taleni Seu, Tevita Koloamatangi, Kayne Hammington, Sam McNicol, Latu Vaeno.

Pretty stripped down patchy chiefs side with a mix ranging from of top level fringe All Blacks like Bird, Lowe, Weber, Marshall & Elliot all the way down to a guy making his chiefs debut (Brown). Guys like Elliot and Seu appearing on the bench suggests that the chiefs are either managing the workloads of regular players during the super rugby break or simply wanting to give the less experienced guys a run. While the chiefs side doesn't lack potential or ability its a mix of players that you likely wont have seen together before and wont ever again, I guess its an awkward match for both sides.

True, and I know you can't compare era's, but in the amatuer days, when the touring sides played the provinces, it was a chance for the provincial players to get noticed, and for the touring fringe test players to really push their case for inclusion in the test side. I guess the welsh players can still do that, and maybe the newer chiefs players can try to push their way into the side when super rugby resumes.

Could be a good chance for the likes of Lowe to improve his chances of gaining higher honors if he can show his versatility from fullback

yip. If I had to pick two players that will really want to impress I would think this is a really nice chance for James Lowe and Dominic Bird in particular.

Bird is young, has the physical attributes the AB coaches will always be looking for and hes been involved with the AB's before.
Lowe can get the selectors attention if he can show them what they are missing out on by selecting Julian Savea instead of a player who is actually in form.
