Italy v Scotland

Owens has definetely favoured Italy so far but this is much better. Almost a second try there, never thought id say that today ;)

Nigel Owens needs to understand that The Italian props are going straight down not the Scottish! [/b]

Actually I don't think so, to me it seems they do not want the challenge in the first line.

Scotland defy logic.

After a rock solid performance against England you might think it'd be more of the same against Italy. First ten minutes of highly erratic play and crap passing & kicking by Parks put paid to that. So, you think, now Italy are going to turn the screw and Scotland will disintegrate. Again, not so, for Scotland then suddenly reassemble and rumble in a 2nd try.

But then they go back to being erratic and its only a Mike Blair try that gets them ahead.

Scotland could easily beat this Italian side if they'd just decide for once what kind of team they want to be.

EDIT: Also, I'll interpret "Owens has definetely favoured Italy so far.." as "Scotland are getting pwned in the scrum by Italy.."

I think we are spending too many players tackling during the first phases of the scottish attacks, they can move out the ball pretty fast and find our defense a bit unplaced. we have had a couple of good passes but we look to be tired already at the third pass when we are attacking due to an evident unconfindential behaviour

I don't think Italy know exactly what to do after the third phase or even the third pass as this seems to be virgin territory for them.

Have Italy ever strung together a sustained number of phases together? Like 7+? This year they seem to do a couple of pick and goes with a couple of runs before either turning over ball or booting.

And can someone kill Andy Nicol. Dan Parks has been playing like crap for the first half and Scotland have been so schotzophrenic in what they want to do that they've almost gifted two tries to Italy through missed passes or spilled ball and yet, according to Nicol's rosy world, Scotland have been playing well? I agree with him that Scotland need Paterson and Webster running at speed at the Italians but Dan Parks just isn't the guy to deliver that. He just isn't, he never has, never is and never will be the guy to deliver that.

They really need to examine alternatives from Scotland's new generation.

oooh, what a surprise, two more penalties given to Italy.

Both teams have helping hands today Scotland have Masi Italy have Owens.

:D

LOL Cotter is genius:

"And on comes that walking biceps factory: Jason White."

 Parks for the first time EVER makes a break then panicks and knocks on...

I HATE PARKS!

And Scotland who apparently are "playing well" gift Italy AGAIN with another intercepted pass! 17 - 17

Are you guys up there REALLY sure Parks is better than Godman? Are you guys really sure that selecting a guy who can only do an up and under (badly) is better than a pretty young and dynamic fly-half for Edinburgh?

Well we've had all the play but daft mistakes has kept the Italians in it

Well done Italia

Strokosch elected man of the Match, but I saw Italia vs Parisse !!

a good gift for the italian fans
What do you think about the work Nick Mallet has done so far?

I hope we never see Parks in a Scotland shirt again, if he had chipped istead of passing it could have been 24/10 instead of 17/17. Well done to Italy they have deserved a victory this year.

He was agreeing with you Schalk baby..

..I actually have changed my mind, I think Dan Parks is awesome and should play for Scotland and Glasgow, specifically games against England and Saracens please..

Mmmhh...quite appropriate place for my first post on these forums.

Great game in defense by the Azzurri...definitely not as effective when was needed a break forward. But that is a common problem for the italian team, maybe one day we'll be able to put up a great offensive game, as good as the defensive one we already have.

The ref wasn't spotless, but i remember other games in wich the whistles were against us. I think that's one of the uncontrollable aspects of the game, right?

Parisse definitely the MOTM, shame he wasn't nominated...the try he put up with Canale was a joy for the eyes!
