Ireland Wolfhounds v England Saxons - 25/01/2013

I'm sure there will be stream on the usual sites which won't be named for legal reasons :p

I presume the IRFU have sold the rights to all Ireland home games to RTE, whereas Sky have all Saxons home games, and each contract cancels out the other so away games just aren't shown in England as RTE is Ireland only (I think Sky Sports can be accessed in Ireland if you have Sky? Dunno).

I'm pretty sure that the typical deal is that when RTE buy rights to things, they buy Ireland only rights - hence why it's encrypted on Sky and the Irish Freesat Thing is all completely non-standard, but UK broadcasters buy Republic of Ireland rights simply because it's cheaper and easier than encryption. I don't think they'd cancel each other out, just that the match would fall between the two. Which is a shame, really.

The RFU did tweet earlier, confirming what we all suspected - the only way to watch this one is through RTE (directly or indirectly).

Anybody got a link, my country has betrayed me and won't let me watch even though I keep telling it I'm Irish.

Same, tried proxies etc. but nothing's working.
Stupid RTE, at least when England sell their soul to TV they do it to a company that it's easy to watch online...

Neither stream I found works.

However, Toulouse v Biarritz does.

Managed to get an Irish proxy working, but it was the slowest thing ever.
Took over 5minutes to load the RTE website, so streaming video was way out of the question :(

On the plus side mate, Sale on tv tomorrow?

Really annoying though. First time I've been unable to find a working stream.

All the sites were using the same stream source which is why no site has worked.

Watching through RTE.ie now... absolutely no problems with the stream.

The Irish scrum is in all sorts of problems though. It would appear that Michael Bent is not the answer.

Michael Bent is being made mince meat out of in the scrum, and England have clearly got the advantage in this area. Still 10-0 to Ireland after 32 minutes. Coghlan, Marshall and Henshaw are all playing well.

im in belfast and i cant get the rte thing to work!! grrr

Michael Bent looks to be exactly as advertised by people in New Zealand. A rubbish scrummager, below Tony Buckle standard.
