Ireland vs France - 09/03/2013

I watched Castres vs Montpellier last week and Trinh-Duc was amazing. I don't understand why the coach still starts with Michalak, but I guess he really has no clue.

Probably because he tore apart Australia and Argentina last November ...

Lievremont wasn't a great fan of TD either.
Poor lad, he is a class player.

Is there issues with TD like I don't know much but is it just bad luck or personality and attitude issues? Don't know much about him but he is a talent and goal kicking issue shouldn't matter as Parra can kick and if Parra got injured use Michalak as back up 9 or I sure in a case of emergency TD can kick

I wanst having a dig. In my experience of rugby even an average French team is usually challenging for the Championship.

 that's a nice thing to say, but I was just joking of course !
...and we're ahem....a bit under "average" at the moment.......:D

But he put Parra at fly-half and I believe on current form, I'd rather see Parra at fly-half, but not Michalak.

I don't get why Fritz is starting over Bastareaud. If Bastareaud were in a team with go-forward ball and a decent pair of half-backs (i.e. if France played Parra and Trinh-Duc together and had faith in them), he has shown he can thrive in the outside centre position. Having a ball-crashing 13 works wonders for some teams these days, especially with such a creative centre as Fofana inside.
It's really perplexing because he has been making so many metres when he's got hold of the ball.

Oh well, yet another issue to add to the long list of coaching issues for Saint-Andre...

Great to hear the Ireland women's team beat the French one step closer to a Grand Slam for them.

^ yeh yeh, fantastic......uhmm say, you do know you're goin down tonight bro, yeh ? :)

Probably because Bastareaud is fat, one dimensional ball hog, who got beat at his own crash ball game by Tuilagi against England.

Interesting you note Fofana "is a creative centre", because he really isn't in the way your meaning. He breaks the line and runs angles really well, but in terms of distributing he is not that type of centre who can put others into gaps like Regan King, Giteau or Henson for example. He creates line breaks for himself, not others.

I know nothing of the sort. Possibly BO'D's last ever home game for Ireland. Here's to another hattrick!:p

Nice tribute by RTE to RO'G great career overall. No can we please move on.

If Ireland loose today I think it should be BODs last game too. It is time to move on and think next meaningful game we play BOD would only be a passenger.

Unlikely that this will be an exciting game. Similar weather to the England match.

Interesting stat that after 3 rounds Keith Earls has made most "clean breaks" and "metres gained".
