Intercept King O'Driscoll to continue his rich vein of form after nabbing one against Fiji btw...

Fair enough on the point made about Flannery but I'll stick to my other selections, also Healy, Cronin, Sexton and Earls will be better than their opposites by the next World Cup imo.[/b]
Where'd they find you?

Well, none of those statements are overly ridiculous I guess. Healy, as everyone saw 2 weeks ago, is a complete beast of a young man who is only going to grow in stature as he matures. Sexton is probably the most promising Flyhalf in the northern hemisphere while Earls the same amount of appearances for the Lions as for Ireland so there is potential there. People seem to be talking about a golden generation of Irish players coming to the end of their tether but for the first time that I know of we actually have the people coming through to replace the big names. We should be alright come 2011 and beyond.

Oh I just saw Cronin. Oh.

A little village in the wesht of Ireland called a hasgra,
Cronin was outstanding during the Churchill Cup and was probably Ireland's standout player besides McFadden, he's gone down the same route as Flannery in playing for Connacht to get gametime but I am confident once Flannery hangs up his boots he will be the next Munster hooker, he's already on the Bench for Ireland at 23(granted because of Rory's injury). He's a solid scrummager and is excellent in the loose, mobile and very powerfull. His lineout throwing is not yet as good as Flannery's but he will ony get better with age. He is a very, very good prospect.

While Ireland is certainly improving they are not world beaters yet!! When you can consistently win in the SH I will happily give you that tag. That will have to be proved over the next two years, which should result in a WC win as that is the only time you can be truly judged.

You guys seem to be blowing a big trumphet of late seeing as the last grand slam you won was 61 years ago. I do feel however that Ireland at home are very strong and will beat SA by 10 this weekend, but I would not get to ahead of yourself as your major challenge this year is winning the Six Nations again.

Only the most deluded of Irish fans would think we are world beaters, WC2007 is always in the back of our minds, I went to that WC and was at the Geogia, Nambia and France games(shudder at the memory). I keep expecting us to implode any day now. A lot of Irish fans on here have seem to forgotten that Ireland had beaten all before them leading up to the WC including SA and Aus and only loosing to France from a try in the last min of the game, missing out on a GS. The thing is after that WC everybody thought that was it for Ireland's "Golden Generation", it was all over and they never really achieved anything substantial. Then all of a sudden all these young players who were better than the guys they were replacing showed up and the team finally delivered. I think Irish fans are just trying to enjoy it while it lasts with all the bragging rights afforded to us, because who knows if the next implosion in just around the corner. Ireland by 60 on saturday.

Anyone else worried that we won't be able to get decent ball?

f***ed in the scrum

Lineout will be difficult

Breakdown will be a disaster if we don't improve leaps and bounds from Oz, and if we don't put some shackles on Brussow.

Worried.

That's why I've been asking in my prayers since Monday that our kickers will aim to put the ball into touch and slow the game down as i believe IRE hve the best backline in world rugby but we can keep that under control if we play smart. Also praying that the ref watches for skew throwing at the line-out to make the set piece a contest where Matfield and Bekker can shine and if Spies and Smith were also to play, all line-outs would go to SA.

With Jacobs out injured, I think the potensial points for Ireland through midfield breaks has halved as well.

Ah now, i'd say we'll win the majority of our won throws but i cant see to much clean off the top ball coming from it, making set pieces tough

Change on the Irish bench. Sean Stone Hands O'Brien is named instead of Denis Penalty Machine Leamy

Pity that Schalk Burger is there... But still, good team we have selected. I reckon we are going to win this one.

Schalk Burger is going to get a nice welcome from the 82 000 me thinks... Is the game a sell-out?

SA do it the other way around.

K. That is pretty much the team I have hoped for. No excuses now, we should win this one.
