sean o brien shold be in there instead of ferris he is a class act[/b]
Im sorry... are we talking about the same Stephen "Cyco" Ferris???
[/b][/quote]

He's just confused, you see, Simon Easterby's nickname used be 'ferris' and he didn't realise that the Ferris we're all talking about is Stephen 'Cyco' Ferris of Ulster, the most destructive force since Hurricane 'Cyco's Fart' Katrina.

Luke McLean,
Kaine Robertson,
Gonzalo Canale,
Gonzalo Garcia,
Mirco Bergamasco,
Craig Gower,
***o Tebaldi,

Alessandro Zanni,
Mauro Bergamasco,
Josh Sole,
Quintin Geldenhuys,
Carlo Antonio Del Fava,
Martin Castrogiovanni,
Leonardo Ghiraldini (captain)
Salvatore Perugini.

Replacements: Fabio Ongaro, Matias Aguero, Marco Bortolami, Paul Derbyshire, Simon Picone, Riccardo Bocchino, Andrea Masi.

Not a particularly scary team...Decent backrow regardless of Parisse's absence. Good front row. Rubbish centres and Kaine Robertson is useless. And always has been. And always will be.

I'm starting to miss Masi, I mean he was pretty good during the World Cup and imo he's better than Canale and García (and what happened to Marcato? he was a decent fly-half)

Cullen Called Into Ireland Team

Ireland team manager Paul McNaughton confirmed the change to the team to take on Italy when speaking at a press conference in the team hotel this afternoon.

He said that lock Donncha O'Callaghan had suffered a knee injury setback on Wednesday. The injury prevented O'Callaghan from taking a full part in Monday's squad session but he was able to train at the RDS on Tuesday.

The Corkman's knee was tested yesterday and a call was made this morning that he will not be fit for Ireland's RBS 6 Nations opener on Saturday.

O'Callaghan's injury sees Leo Cullen promoted from the replacements bench. He will line out in the second row alongside Paul O'Connell, as he did against Fiji in November.

Munster's Donnacha Ryan has taken Cullen's place on the bench and is in line for his first RBS 6 Nations cap.

Saturday's game will mark Cullen's first Six Nations game since he started against Wales in March 2003, but McNaughton has no fears about the big Newtownmountkennedy man stepping up to the plate.

"Leo is an experienced player, a Heineken cup winner and captain with Leinster. He was in squad in November and he's a very experienced guy to bring into the squad," explained the Irish manager.

McLaughlin is more of a specialist number 6 than O'Brien

McLaughlin is better at the ruck aswell which reminds me that Ireland have no great ball winner on the ground and you may say Healy is better than Marcus at a lot of things but on the floor Marcus is brilliant for a loosehead... and on that matter Leamy is a bit of a loss aswell...

Heaslip is a good winner on the ground. Heaslip is really just an all round quality back row

But Heaslip is more of a big, pretty quick ball carrier... we have no specialist ball winner like brussouw, mccaw or somebody else that I cant think of...

yeah theres no real fetcher out there at all ...closest i can think of of irish blood to a groundhog is jennings

we've not had a proper fetcher since Gleeson, Jennings isn't in the same league unfortunately, if he was Wallace would have fewer caps than he does.

There are rumours flying around MF's that BOD is touch and go for Saturday, If this is true I reckon he shouldn't even be considered for the Italy game as he is vital for the French clash. The team would probably end up ike this

1 Healy
2 Flannery
3 Hayes
4 Cullen
5 O'Connell
6 McLaughlin
7 Wallace
8 Heaslip
9 O'Leary
10 O'Gara
11 Trimble
12 D'Arcy
13 Earls
14 Bowe
15 Kearney

Which still looks a decent team even without the big man. Probably bring Horgan in for Earls bench spot.

A groundhog and a Proper 7 aren't the same thing. Anyway, Willie Faloon and Niall Ronan are closer to the classic idea of an Openside flanker than Jennings.
