Ireland v France

Not a criticism of McFadden or Earls, but when was the last time Ireland lined up without a winger who was 6', 15 stone +? Other than last game... its a very small back-line in general really.

I can see Kearney considering a move abroad. I'm not saying he's a greedy guy but he seems like a guy that would take the chance and opportunity to move abroad and it might be good for both sides

Maybe a move to Ulster would be a good idea. They lack strength at fullback and are a club moving forward. He would add abit of experience, get game time and be able to start fresh. I think Leinster are very strong in the backline and I think Nacewa plays very well at 15 and with Conway in the background and Fitzgerald playing well at fullback, Kearney may strugle in the long term. On the other side if Kearney returns to the form of 2009, it will be very hard for anyone to keep him out of the 15 jersey.

Seriously lads, slow down with the speculation.

Kearney has only struggled to hold his place when injured (as he currently is). Even with Nacewa and Fitz fit hes always played a part and I dont see that changing.

I agree. I think I was only saying a move to Ulster would work if he doesn't get back in the Leinster team. Like I said if he can rediscover form he can easily get back into the team. I think he was playing quite well before the AI and he was very good against Saracens at wembley. I also think Schmidt is a coach that could really bring his form back. Look what he's done for Horgan etc.

I dont think anyone is speculating he will leave just it'll be interesting in 2/3 years as Leinster will have alot of competition for back 3

According to Radio5Live Rugby Tomas O'Leary is a maybe for this match with a "stiff back" and Stringer has been called up as cover
So a Reddan start with Stringer on with 20mins to go?
Doubt Stringer would start as he's a late call up

This is all if O'Leary has to pull out, of course

Lads I think it just precaution. TOL has stiff back but is expected to make it. Although getting Stringer in would be a major bonus Ireland.

Whatever happened to TOL being the 2nd coming of Jesus we were all promised a couple of years ago?

He never devoped the pass Bullit. The skill needed most by a 9. He is superb defensively but limited in attack

It's a shame, he looked like he could be good a while back. Eoin Reddan seems to be the best Irish option going forward then... *cough*
