Ireland v England

yeah I'm surprised that Earls isn't there, wonder does Deccie still hold a grudge with the father.

I've no major complaints with the team. Would have preferred to have seen Caldwell or Casey on the bench instead of O'Driscoll though.

i would have thought casey was a cert to be on the bench espically with the kennedy factor as previously stated
cant really argue with the same team as there winning plus we do have a very explosive bench

well less so now.

Yeah, O'Kelly had a huge impact off the bench against Italy. 2 dropped restarts and gave away a penalty. What will we do without him I wonder? Micko wouldn't be my personal choice but he is hardly a weakness either.

this isn't about O'Kelly, I'd no problem with him being dropped, how does someone who's been on the bench pretty much all season get picked ahead of the likes of Caldwell or Casey, even Ryan is a better option. O'Driscoll offers nothing.

What is it with Leinster fans and Micko? I am not directing this at you Tarbh but Leinster fans in general? He is probably Munster's best jumper, Not regularly starting for the team who has 4 of the top 5 locks in Ireland is hardly a serious crime? He is also quite a bit younger than O'Kelly, has more pace, is more mobile, and is a better leader. To say he offers nothing is harsh, IMO Casey or Caldwell should be there ahead of him, It is a shame about what happened to Donnacha Ryan.

Well according to the Irish times Cauldwell is only coming back from being laid up for a while and Casey played a full 80 mins over the weekend. as did micko. so really there doesnt seem to be much of a reason why mal had to be gotton rid of. esipcally if there are no other changes, why upset the squad?

Micko isn't exactly young either at 30. I'd rather Bob (who again isn't all that young) or even Donnocha Ryan (Disappointed that he wasn't able to play in the last match).

England: 15. D Armitage; 14. Sackey, 13. Tindall, 12. Flutey, 11. Cueto; 10. Flood, 9. Ellis; 1. Sheridan, 2. Mears, 3. Vickery; 4. Borthwick©, 5. Kennedy; 6. Haskell, 7. Worsley, 8. Easter.

Replacements: 16. Hartley, 17. White, 18. Croft, 19. Narraway, 20. Care, 21. Goode, 22. Tait.

Borthwick should have been dropped a long time ago, but yet again this donkey makes the team. He offers us very little and seems to spend his time being knocked back.

Despite looking like I may be bias, I reckon Care should have started as well. I just don't see Ellis being the man with the number 9 shirt for the next few years, and Care offers a lot more in attack. He does need reining in from time to time, but this will come with experience.

What else, Easter should be dropped. I said earlier in this thread that he has been living in the shadow of the back line, so starting Narraway would have been better. Worsley needs a big game to prove he is potent in attack as well as a rabid dog in defence.

I thought there would be changes, certainly more than the 1 we got, if Care is in the squad he should start, no point in having a half fit replacement, better to start him than have him coming on and then not being up to it.

Mears can consider himself lucky as well, again though that may have depended on Hartley's fitness.

It's definitely last chance saloon for Easter, he's offered absolutely nothing in the opening 2 games so really has to step up to the plate on Saturday.

I doubt Johnson is going to drop Borthwick, but I can't see him dropping his captain during the championship.

Happy to see Tindalll there, but of weakness in what looks like a strong backline. I'd be worried if I were England from 8-9, I think the Irish back row offers far more especially with Easter under performing, Haskell not on fantastic form and Worsley the one trick goat.

Borthwick is a heap of crap. So not worried too much about the kineout, Both Back threes look very strong thoiugh and as usual it'll be a test for the Irish front row.

I think Ireland should win.

How's Flood's kicking game at the moment?

Would it be conservative if I said awful?

It was all over the place against the All Blacks and he did miss a sitter against Wales. Far stronger with ball in hand than anything to do with putting boot to ball.

No Keith Earls?! This is a disater for Ireland! They'll only win by ten points now! :(

yeah we know we're blessed relatively speaking but still need something to have a whinge about. :p

Ireland certainly should win, and as usual I think it will be won on the kicking game. Which even at his most heimlich-spluttery, O'Gara will kill flood at.

Scrums and lineouts are 50/50.. because we know England can scrummage but sometimes the front row don't show up. And we have Kennedy vs O'Connell.

Back row is very annoying, because I think Heaslip will make you a lot of ground and Easter will go sideways. Haskell has managed to find some fantastic form atm, which has been missing all season, and I'd expect him to eclipse Ferris provided he doesn't give away sill penalties. And Wallace on Worsley - no contest, quite literally, Wallace will scrap for the ball and Worsley won't.

I have to say "told you so" about the Flood not being released and therefore is first choice 10:)
