Ireland v England, 10/02/13

I just hope Brian Moore gets to use the word 'manshaming' again this year.

Is that arrogant?

Course it is. Moore's English. We breath arrogance.

Can we please grow the **** up here, it's really just taking away from what should be a good match to watch with good build up and bater from both sides. Right now a lot of people look very immature.

The arrogance! Seriously though, I don't think there's been one iota of malice in anything said. I love all you Irish, even though you're a bunch of terrible ********.

Back to the rugby, though, and as I said before most people, for example Chris Foy of the Daily Faiil, are saying Tuilagi is set to be on the bench. If true, its one of the first times in a while Lancaster has gone for the cautious option.

The plus side of losing would be that we can then put 36 and Manu together for the rest of the tournament without fear

Loving the influx of new english members, it's a first for them usually its us that have bandwagoners.

Despite being a relative veteran of the board, you must not remember the various generations of bandwagon hoppers coming and going.

Like the death of all Munster and arrival the Leinster fans, for example.

I get that it's not been malicious very irking however.

I'd much rather Manu is on the beach him and 36 could do some real damage/

EDIt: Mite my point was it's a nice not be from the same club/country as them for a change. Also I do remember I was one myself.

I hope Billy Vunipola doesn't make an appearance, but that said Waldrom isn't great. With Billy, its more that I think he's too inexperienced. He does make mistakes and give away penalties. Also because he carries so hard and so many defenders try to hit him at the same time, he does knock on. Part of me woudl love to see him on for a bruising final 20, but what if one of the other back-row pick up an early injury and he has to play longer? JUst don't think he's ready. Also, the Irish choketackle could work on him well after the first tackler has slowed him down a bit.

Did a same thing happen a few years ago with all the Welsh fans deciding they were all from Neath or Swansea

Come on mate they are nothing compared to the English class of 2001-2004.

Have a game against Portsmouth at the same time as this :(

Will bring my iPad along and hope they have 3G so we can just use Sky Go... might even give it to the ref to hold, not like he could do any worse than the ones we have already had this season <_<

England Team to face Ireland

15. Alex Goode (Saracens, 7 caps)
14. Chris Ashton (Saracens, 30 caps)
13. Brad Barritt (Saracens, 12 caps)
12. Billy Twelvetrees (Gloucester Rugby, 1 caps)
11. Mike Brown (Harlequins, 12 caps)
10. Owen Farrell (Saracens, 13 caps)
9. Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers, 29 caps)

1. Joe Marler (Harlequins, 6 caps)
2. Tom Youngs (Leicester Tigers, 5 caps)
3. Dan Cole (Leicester Tigers, 36 caps)
4. Joe Launchbury (London Wasps, 5 caps)
5. Geoff Parling (Leicester Tigers, 13 caps)
6. James Haskell (London Wasps, 46 caps)
7. Chris Robshaw (Harlequins, capt, 13 caps)
8. Tom Wood (Northampton Saints, 10 caps)

Replacements
16. Dylan Hartley (Northampton Saints, 43 caps)
17. David Wilson (Bath Rugby, 23 caps)
18. Mako Vunipola (Saracens, 5 caps)
19. Courtney Lawes (Northampton Saints, 16 caps)
20. Thomas Waldrom (Leicester Tigers, 4 caps)
21. Danny Care (Harlequins, 38 caps)
22. Toby Flood (Leicester Tigers, 54 caps)
23. Manusamoa Tuilagi (Leicester Tigers, 17 caps)

Fairly happy with this to be honest. Tuilagi hasn't played an actual game in a while so questions over fitness surely. Plus he can make a good impact off the bench on tired Irish bodies. The bench again actually looks quite strong - I'm not even against Waldrom being there, he might even make a good impact sub himself. I do hope however that Goode has retained some form after that decent-average display last week. Also interested to see how Marler/Youngs/Cole goes in the scrum against the Irish.

Sensible and conservative seeing as this could realistically be the hardest game of the championship for us. Manu can come on either for Barritt or 36 and have Barritt move inside to 12. Waldrom, while I'm not a fan of his stlye, is a much better idea than blooding Billy V against the Irish away. I'm a bit bemused that Burns got sent home but maybe the injury is not fully healed.

Bring on the weekend1

If any of the back row needs replacing then I'd much prefer Lawes to come on than Waldrom, the only exception would be if we're struggling under the high ball.

I think Lancaster might want to save Billy V and Burns' bench places for the less pressurized matches. Remember Burns has only played about 20 mins, and although he did play very well the match was won at that point.
I think they both deserve quite a bit of game time in the other home matches though, a whole half each would be nice.

Just watching the 2003 version as a prelude for Sunday with Stringer throwing punches, loads of penalties for Irish disruption, Wilko dropping goals at will, ROG being steamrollered for a try, BOD going off injured and England in total control......nothing really changes does it!!!

Haha, I'd like to thnk so. However, I fear the opposite is true.

Where has Burns gone? Presumably his injury is still there? I can't imagine they were worried about putting him against the Irish given his debut was against the All Blacks, however well that turned out.

Another pragmatic selection, let's hope it's followed up by a similar performance. Good bench, though, should it turn out to be a tight one. Nearly as many caps as the starting XV.

We can always hope...

Seriously I think England might just sneak it. Its going to be tight wither way and the match might end up hanging on one or two moments/decisions but if Ireland don't build up a healthy half time lead I'd expect England to overtake them in the second forty.

Can't say I am happy with that England side to be honest. Brown should be ahead of Goode by miles, Tuilagi should have started too. I am happy however that Lancaster hasn't started Waldrom.
