Ireland v England, 10/02/13

The pack that started for Ireland against Wales is 4lbs heavier than the pack that started for England against Scotland.

And only because Mike Ross is one of these:

I tried to find an Irish brand...although it says Wisconsin on it...
Also, ignore the 4 pounds thing, he's way more than that..

This should be a good'un. I fancy the English and their fans to be on a classic arrogant-high (their writers at least, maybe not so much fans) based on their recent form.

We'll see how that goes against the Irish.

So not much then. Still shows not all those economy burgers made the dock.

On current form I'd rather Robshaw than SOB.

and before everyone starts screaming stats at me: games aren't won on spreadsheets. Yes he topped the tackles list, but he also had several major brainfarts.

HAVE YOU NOT SEEN MONEYBALL

You should really watch it Brad Pitt looks majestic.

I'm going to scream anyway which brainfarts exactly as I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head. Anyway he been pretty good since he came back. Can't say I thought was as good from what I saw of the Scotland game. He's not the only from 3-8 who's better than his counterpart but I'm not really gonna bother with those now.

Cuthbert puts in a kick to nowhere on the touchline from around his own ten metre line, back three always have it covered, but it's a penalty to Wales as O'Brien takes out Cuthbert after he's kicked the ball.

Shortly afterwards Ireland turnover a Welsh lineout. Henry reacts quickly, cleans up the ball and pops the ball to O'Brien who promptly charges off by himself as hard as he can at a Welsh player (Halfpenny I think) - completely ignoring the backs in favour of getting isolated and getting turned over.

The Cuthbert one wasn't a penalty, the replay showedhe was committed to the tackle before the ball had been quick. The charge up the middle was a bit stupid though especially running at Halfpenny.

Was that the one where Halfpenny put one hell of a tackle in on O'Brien, my god that boy puts his body on the line for Wales!

Think both those are fairly harsh. I didn't really think the Cuthbert one was a penalty I thought he was committed though maybe my view is coloured. The second one I can totally understand why he did it. As far as I can remember (and I'm probably wrong) the backs weren't set and were marked up. SO'B got up to full pelt 9 times out of ten you'd say he'd break that tackle after which he'd have no one in front of him. At the very least you'd expect Ireland would have quick go forward ball against a retreating defense who'd be sucked in. Just happened that Halfpenny put in one hell of a tackle.

I'm going to back Ireland to banish the English from our hallowed shores, tail between their legs. Their arrogance crushed.....
Genuinely I'm calling a close match, Ireland to win it by about 3. I was hoping to get tickets for it, but now I'm not so sure.

Yeah I know, what I learned most from it was that baseball has a retarded transfer system.

What I learned most is that if somebody offers you a couple of million quid a year to join a bigger company, don't be a loyal numpty and take the cash.

Or was that French rugby,

I hope the winning try for Ireland comes off a wrong decision, then **** will fly

According to the bbc, Tuilagi is 'expected' to be on the bench. And Haskell in for Morgan as expected but probably to 6

On the plus side, that would mean no place for Strettle.

(edit. Cant do video thing on phone)

Ireland are clinical, sturdy, will more then match England upfront, though i think they have a few surface indentations that when under the English go-forward units onslaught may crack just enough for England to pip it eventually. England to win by 4.
The Dublin hoodoo was lifted when we beat Ireland in Ireland in the WC warm up, more then matching them in brute.

Playing away from home didn't have a huge effect on England in the last six nations. Match them physically for the first half when they're fired up and then smash them in the second half when they've calmed down. Scrum to be in England's favour by a long way.

England by 7-10. Tuilagi to end BOD's championship in the 64th minute as he barrels over him for the decisive score. The flower of Irish rugby crushed underfoot.

...arrogant.

Loving the influx of new english members, it's a first for them usually its us that have bandwagoners.
