Ireland v Argentina

Such a poor performance in the second half. 29-9 is hugely flattering.

Starting with the positive, Sexton kicked his goals, Varley had an impressive cameo, D'arcy looks to be back on form, no tries conceded and the scrum was decent.

The negatives were an appalling 2nd half, Wallace is finished, lineouts, restarts, failure to proactively use the bench and we're no further to developing a squad.

Irelands biggest ever win vs Argentina - without playing well. 15 missed points to Argentina through the boot and 7 through a penalty try not awarded. Argentina were rubbish though and Ireland the better side. No way did Ireland deserve to lose. I would be angry paying to see this at the stadium.

Christ, help Hernández be fit for Argentina! He has missed 80% of their games.

Crap game, Ireland definitely deserved the win but a combination of some apalling refereeing decisions, Contepomi's boot and Bosch meant Argentina had no chance at all.

Poor 2nd half performance by Ireland, they seemed to lose all the desire to attack that they had during a lot of the 1st half.

Neither teams played well, Argentina's backs didn't seem to be there the whole game. Some very poor and bias refereeing there, I was genuinely shocked how many descisions went Irelands way when they shouldn't have. Weird how bad the Pumas backs were, a quick look through most Top 14 team sheets and there's an Argie in most of them.

What we've learned in the November Internationals.

Irish staff have a team in their head and they're not gonna change it unless there's an injury. Eddie style.

The team consists of David Wallace. It does not consist of Keith Earls.

Ireland are allergic to the ball and will get rid of it at any means possible.

Restarts are handy, because it's a really good way of avoiding the ball which your team is allergic to.

It is also important to clear the ball at all counter attacking and try scoring opportunities

Just on way back now. This isn't a dig at Trimble in case people think but I think Earls really has to be a starter. Geordan Murphy has to be at 15. Sexton/Stringer has to be unleashed again. I think Varley did well when on and I thought while Mushy wasn't great Court was poor but I just think we've failed in this AIs to get players like Earls more game time and like players such as Sean O'Brien more experience because while likes of Wally etc aren't on the legs they had before their fitness will be poorer after the summer break.

So what would be everybody's Ireland 22 based on what we've seen in the November tests? Mine is..........

15. Geordan Murphy
14. Tommy Bowe
13. Brian O'Driscoll
12. Gordon D'arcy
11. Keith Earls
10. Jonathan Sexton
9. Peter Stringer

1. Cian Healy
2. Damien Varley
3. Mike Ross
4. Leo Cullen
5. Paul O'Connell
6. Stephen Ferris
7. Sean O'Brien
8. Jamie Heaslip

Subs: Sean Cronin, Tony Buckley, Donncha O'Callaghan, Denis Leamy, Tomas O'Leary, Ronan O'Gara, Luke Fitzgerald

The tight 5 needs to be overhauled. Ireland were bullied up front in every game.

Snoop I'd agree on that except maybe rotate SOB and Leamy but lads Paulie still has big fight back mentally.
But I thing the 9 10 combo is a must and front row I think Varley really has earned the shirt

:D ... I like the way you're thinking Melhor ... I need this to happen so I can overtake Saracen Angel, and Olyy, and win the picking competion ... sorry Ireland, I need the points! :)

 ... well I guess I got what I deserved huh :D ... Not the prettiest of matches, but well done Ireland for a comprehensive win - I really thought the Pumas would go a lot better than that, but I guess I was influenced by their game against France (and look how well they went against Australia)

hmmmn ... maybe I won't show as much solidarity with the teams from "just down the road" next time :)

Yeah I agree with that team too but I'd go with O'Brien. I think Munster fans will always say Leamy and Leinster fans will always say O'Brien

I know everyone is unhappy with Irelands performance but their game plan worked. We new Argentina would go into the game and try and slow the ball down but they failed to do so. We were clinical and we looked threatning with the ball. Our defence was good and our scrum was dominant, I know the ref was biased but on some occasions we were the more powerful in the scrum. That was our biggest win ever against Argentina and we still have some pivotell players to come back form injury.
