In Argentina: The working class hates Rugby

That's the problem of Italy and Samoa. Argentina is a Tier 1 team.

And why Scotland is a Tier 1 team? In the last 14 years were an embarrassment in 6N. They are considered a Tier 1 team just because they have the power, because they are the IRB. I don't see much difference between Argentina and Scotland, and if any would be in favor of Argentina. We won bronze medal in 2007 and we eliminated them in 2011.

Umm since Argentina is a Tier 1 nation, and you don't see much difference between them and Scotland, then surely that means you see Scotland as also a Tier 1 nation?

Really don't understand what you're trying to prove anyway? No-one denies that Argentina is a top tier nation, so why are you bringing all this up ? Also didn't Scotland come 3rd in last years 6 Nations, not all that embarrassing? (Yes one good year, but still falls within your 14 year period of "embarrassment").
Also while they may not have had a huge amount of success since 5 Nations turned into 6, still hasn't stopped them claiming scalps of 2 of the top 3 SH nations! Certainly have a better record against the SH nations than a lot of the other Tier 1 Natiosn (excluding the big 3 themselves). Since 2009, they've beaten Australia twice (home and away) and South Africa once.
This record over the last 5 years is actually better than - Wales (0 Wins vs SH), Argentina (0 Wins, 1 Draw vs SH), Ireland (2 Wins, 1 Draw vs SH)
They might not have been as consistently competitive as these nations against the SH, but the results speak for themselves for Scotlands continued place as a Tier 1 nation.

really dont get me started

Football is not more popular because of a skill thing...few sports are more technical and skillful than olympic free style wrestling. There are thousands of techniques and counters, combinations, strategies, tactics...Does anybody watch it? Yes, by chance while they're waiting to see whatever any other sport while Olympics are broadcasted.

The same could be said of fencing, gymnastics, judo...just they're more easy to get for an untrained eye of an owner who never practiced those sports. Even some decent crowds are gathered in those events, outside of the olympics or world championships, those sports are just invisible to the mainstream.

Didn't say other sports don't have skill...there is skill in olympic wrestling but unlike football it's not aesthetically pleasing hence no one watches. To quote ex Barça coach Frank Rijkaard on Ronaldinho; "he has individual skills that are of such a high level that everybody in the world adores him."

I dont envisage greco roman wrestling getting tens of millions of hits on YouTube vids any time soon.

Have you ever played rugby??? Delete the Leinster's logo in your profile, please. You're saying stupid things, just someone who has never played rugby can say that this sport don't requires skill.

I didn't. Was just lauding a sweet pass by Wilkinson last week for the first try. Such rare moments of skill are what i want to see more of. What I said was physicality is basic...any bloke can go to the gym and meet the criteria for that one. Rugby previously had more emphasis on skill than now, ie.flair and running with the ball. I don't watch Rugby to watch the pack. One O'Driscoll dummy got over one million hits on YouTube. Sure some element of brutes running into one another is fine, so long as its balanced out with flair and free running Rugby. Mainly i'm lamenting the loss of France on that score, also the demise of Australia.

Agree they shouldn't be. Scotland are being carried by their history.

aye so scotland should be a tier 2 but not argentina or italy aye ok.. so one horrible season in the six nations means we should be a tier 2. i said this so many times before and i'll say it again we have the players to be a successful team. and plus glasgow got into the pro 12 final and we majority off the glasgow team are scottish and got second overall beating teams like munster, ospreys etc. and your saying we should be a tier 2 off course a leinster than would say that

WTF? Do Leinster fans have some hidden agenda against Scotland? SimonG hardly speaks for the majority of any group of fans.

Depends on criteria for tier one Scotty. You can't say Scotland are a major Rugby team that they were in the Hastings era and previous to that. The Rugby playing pool in Scotland has dried up...you'd almost be fooled in to thinking the Scots have boycotted playing for the Lions.

sorry Big ginger 8 i just really dont like it when people think scotland a tier 2 nation when we have good records against the top 3 teams

You can't judge the overall quality of a team based on a few upsets? If so Connacht could be considered much better than they are, with good wins over the likes of Leinster, Toulouse and Harlequins in the last few seasons. (I'm sure there's more I've forgotten about)

indeed. Connacht are secretly mighty. They throw games away because of their mood, but make no mistake about it, they came to Toulouse, a place the Saracens couldn't win at, and smote their foes for the day without remorse. Toulouse, deeply vexed, went into the depths of Connacht to exact revenge over them later, and managed an incredible result. Possibly their most meaningful result of the season, but people would call all this exaggeration...

In Italy there is a similar situation but it has nothing to do with social situation,it's only rivalry among sport

This is the most stupid and retard sh*t that I've ever read.

You must be a fat millionaire **** for sure.

In Argentina football is the most popular sport, is not like SouthAfrica at all hahahahaha, is played by working class, and also by midd and high class.
Rugby, however is only played by high class.

In South Africa, football is a black people's sports, and rugby a white sport, there are historical racial troubles in there, in Argentina everybody loves and supports football.

The reason why everybody hate rugby, is beacuse rugby players are fat pussy millionaire, that in pubs start fights 5 against 1, but when they're alone they chicken out, and of course, always there's a "daddy" to fix all boy's problems whith their money.

I do support Pumas beacuse I support any national team. And also people does, in fact in provinces like Salta, Chacho, Mendoza, Santa Fe, etc etc, every time "los pumas" play, there's good attendance, by all kind of people.

There's not hate to rugby at all, there's hate to fat arrogant millonaire of course.

In fact, in football, there are working class teams, and there are Upper class teams LOL.

you are are trying to make football fans as inferior black people, and rugby fans as superior white people or something? JAJAJA

Anyway, the author of the thread, refers to this:

There are many jokes about how the players sing the national anthem, presumably with a lot of heart and passion unlike football players, and that is why people make fun about the only thing they do well is sing the anthem as actors/posers.
And that, according to the rugby's journalist they always have "moral victories" or a "dignified defeat"

But in Rugby World Cup, or Six Nation we support them, just like we support Las Leonas (female field hockey national team) and Basketball's team, or handball, volleyball, etc The thing is, rugby is the only sport that never won a ****, and they have a lot of publicity that's why so many haters maybe.

This clown knows nothing about rugby. Go to the Soccer Forum, please!

An "argentine" calling FOOTBALL (Fútbol) as "Soccer"

To be fair, he's speaking English and the vast majority of the English speaking world call it soccer...

Bud, he doesn't know that you have your own football, with its own rules and therefore Aussies say soccer not football.

But no matter, he's just an ignorant who are looking for attention, he's not even interested in rugby. He don't know who is Michael Cheika, he has to search his name on google to find out who is. I'd be surprised if he knows the difference between NRL and SR.

Cheers
