So, back to that captain then. I've seen Jamie successfully captain Leinster in the past and if we're going to have so many young Lions I think giving him a shot at it could do the trick. It would force him to calm down a bit and lead by example, not give up penalties at the breakdown...or ram his knee into McCaw's head..

Also, Warburton would definitely 100% without a shadow of a doubt be the 7 for it - with Barclay 2nd - SOB is a 6 or 8 who can cover 7, not a specific openside like those two

Ye thats fine but the thread is current Lions 2011 team, so if you were basing it on the current 6 Nations then you would have to look at the players who played this current 6 Nations.

SOB has not played this 6 Nations at 7 and Warburton pretty much dominated that 7 shirt. Roberts may not have been spectacular but he takes teams over the gainline, again Earls has not played centre so you really can't compare to put him in there.

yes but he will be the same at 7 as he is at 6. and earles has been brilliant so theres no point in putting an off form roberts instead of a on form earles but on the other hand roberts and bod have a great combination
