H Cup Quarter Final : Harlequins vs Munster

Very surprised at that.
Think Quins got drawn into a game they weren't winning - Munster looked terrified when they started throwing the ball about, but they just...didn't, and then they were being out muscled elsewhere.

Fair play to Munster for winning it.

Where was Botica? Should've brought him on at 12. I rate Casson, but he didn't have a great game.

Brilliant, unbelievable team Munster are, Munster are always brilliant when they do this. O'Connell has won himself a seat on the plane to Oz.

O'Gara wasn't too bad either. :D

Not bad for a shite team not even deserving of a spot in QFs and we are an embarrassment and sure Clermont can have win we won't turn up. We'd rather be group who have value and history than top 10 in Europe.
Gwan Munster.

Haha, wondered how long it would take for this to start being spouted.

Once he came back is when I started so what 3 weeks ago. Not really funny the way he's been playing.

Very good team performance from Munster think they'll be smahed by Clermont.

After four losses on the trot and more disappointment to come in the Aviva, guess Ireland do not want Conor O'Shea now...................................?!!

Gwan Munster.

It reminds me of the early 2000's, on paper they don't look like they can do it but the spirit and ferocity of the team pull through. Something good for Irish rugby which has been needed for a while.

Sorry, meant to quote maverick in regards his comment about POC.

Sorry I've come across in the wrong light O Connell is a great player and had a great match today I just feel the as lions we have better options . AWJ and Evans give us more and are familiar with each other add parling to that and I don't feel like we need him . Just my opinion though .

Don't know if Quins froze or Munster stopped them playing. Suspect it's the latter. Scrum aside, Munster's pack bullied Quins. Paul O'Connell was already on the plane to Australia with the Lions but his performance today put him in contention for the captaincy.

Clermont v Munster could be fascinating. Clermont are rampaging through Europe this season but Munster have the pedigree to stop them. I think Clermont will win and go on to take their 1st European crown.

I seriously think Munster could seriously do a job on Quinns. They'll need to play above their current form and cut out the stupid mistakes that seemed to dominate the first 20 today, but if they're precise and take their chances it's very do-able
1. Go away
2. Watch some Quins highlights from this season vs Leicester, Sarries and Saints
3. Come back
4. Say that again with a straight face.

Another? Okay...

5. Ronan O'Gara vs Nick Evans.
Lololololololololololololol
I have been biding my time for too long, just to do this.

I would have to say I disagree because of all that POC brings and I did not think I would be a supporter of his for this tour after the year he has had. However, I must give him the full credit for his fight back, at his age, from injury to play a real Man of the Match performance today.

The Lions will need the type of detemination and leadership he demonstrated but would not necessarily go as far as making him Captain but who knows...............

Maverick you obviously on Whacky Tobaccy if you think AWJ Evans and Parling are all SO far ahead of POC. The man is a true leader and whatever about captaincy he will bring something huge (on form) to Lions tour that none of others can. As for game our backrow was superb and well again Murray and ROG were very good and played the game we are best at. But most of all it was a joy to be here and see Paulie be exceptional in an electric atmosphere. And for me as I know Downey close and Laulala too I was so happy for 2 lads that got alot of crap from all angles to really serve the critics a piece of their own.

People will write us off against Clermont and fair enough but when it get to a dog fight logic usually goes out window and add in Howlett, Earls and Donnacha Ryan (100% fit) wit Zebo (100% fit) all back in mix and we might have a shot. Lets not forget we arent going to the pit in Clermont either and we will have nearly half stadium. In knockout rugby you'd be surprised.

Cudmore vs. O'Connell next week!!!!!!!! I've been waiting for this for years!!!

:D

I feel quite the same way, O'Gara showed he still has it and Munster did the business. :D
In fairness ROG has a style that doesn't suit Ireland but we returned to our strengths today and the man delivered and showed his steel by recovering after early misses and he did his duty putting body on line too.

POC now being touted as Lions captain
He shouldn't have captained in 09 and he was a better player then.

(Unlike a certain poster above I do think POC deserved to go on the 09, just not captain - I wouldn't be upset to see him tour this time, but think there are better options and he's played what, 3 games? in how long?).

Well for a fella that shouldn't he was loved by all parties involved especially the Welsh.
Think it a straight fight between him and BOD again. Robshaw joining Best and Kearney in the reverse gear.

I think he should definitely tour and he's a great shout for the match day 23. If that's him after three games back after long term injury I can't imagine what he'll be like after aout 10 when the Lions come about.

I agree about the captaincy though, I think it should have been O'Driscoll last time and I think it should be him this time around as well.

I don't care if POC captains the side, but if he can bring that sort of aggression and determination, along with an incredible ability to read the line-out, then yes I expect him to tour. While the bacss held their own and showed some good bursts and defensive strength, the forwards won this game. Literally every Munster forward impressed me today. O'Mahony, O'Donnell, Ryan and of course the big man were great. Still expect us to be slapped by Clermont, but still who knows.
