For talking rot.

Lost/ stolen my Ipod today :(

First time I've ever had something valuable lost/ stolen under my watch.

This is how Shylock must have felt when he found he wasn't getting his pound o' flesh.

:(

Shylock probably would have felt much worse seen as he lost half he owned and had to give the other half to his daughter who betrayed him and whom he now hated in his will. And then just to add insult to injury he had to convert from Judaism to Christianity.

And people told me a 'B' in junior cert English is useless.*

Who's There?

Seriously though. It is interesting news. All the experts have different opinions. "the measurements have flaws" "CERN wouldn't make such a mistake" "Photons must have some mass" ect...

Here is an interesting article: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2011/09/22/faster-than-light-travel-discovered-slow-down-folks/

Al-Khalili (think thats the one) bet that he'd eat his pants live on national tv if it was true...

It probably isn't. The result is well within the margin of error and there have been similar errors in the past. However... it might. If it is, we will be drawing physics anew. And, lets be honest, I think this particular webcomic says its best about the absolute nature of phsyics

Happy Battle of Hastings Day!

Shame on those whom don't know of this momentous day, last time the UK was succesfully invaded.

Has anyone on the forum ever watched sport in 3D?

And no, saying you have attended games does not count, the stuff on T.V./ theatre/ bar.

No, I wear glasses (inb4 4-eyes) and can't wear the extra lenses without getting migraines and can't see anything other than blurs with the off.

'Cos of that I can watch Song 2 without my specs on clearly.....

Some kind of sandwich and chocolate/crisps always dose it for me. I think i'd recommend Jaffa Cakes worked when i went to Kilkenny.
