RC has similarities to RL3 in that we had a similar development approach and design philosophy. Under the hood a lot has changed as every system has been changed, improved, or remade from scratch and all the animation and content is completely new. Obviously, there are differences between the Wii Remote and PS3/360 controllers so there is a fundamental difference in controls there too (unless you played RL3 with a gamepad anyway). So maybe RC will have progressed enough from RL3 for you, perhaps not depending on what specifically you didn't like.
Looking forward to playing the RWC 2011 demo. Am interested to see the design decisions HB have taken in action.
We may be wrong but regardless unlike RWC everything RC have done up until now has been almost flawless and has been brilliant marketing.
Yeh true i didn't say what i meant really. Basically i meant by what they have released in the pictures and videos, and the way they have been very helfpul is very good. What you said wasn't so flawless is definitely something that could be better definitely!I'm not sure I can agree with that, if it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't even know RC existed. Even the UK retailer they chose is a poor choice, never even heard of gameseek and not sure I even trust the site. The reviews seem to be pretty poor with its success rate of delivering on time and the site doesn't even advertise the game anywhere. The only difference between Sidhe and HB, is Sidhe would reply with "I can't answer that"
Fact is look at the both trailers. Both are incredibly different and you can tell RL looks crappy whilst RC looks absolutely brilliant. Sure they may be glossing it up and making it a perfect marketing, but this is in game footage and it does look good. We may be wrong but regardless unlike RWC everything RC have done up until now has been almost flawless and has been brilliant marketing.
This whole "we need everyone playing one game" isn't a big one for me.
After reading some of the comments on this thread I think the following statement is appropriate... "There can only be one" - Highlander... Back on point, it won't be Rugby WC 2011
Exactly it is comments nothing more,go look on the web you can find a few hands-on previews for rwc11! I would rather believe peoples previews who actually played the game then some of these guys who are only speculating!
And while your busy try and find some for rc! I could only find 1 and that was in june by nz gamer! It makes me a bit suspisious!
What marketing has been done from both sides shows very little of the gameplay. Marketing is all about how you can make people buy hype and want something. It's okay to be swayed by something like that, but it's not that smart to make final judgements based on marketing.
Sidhe have never really had a problem with graphics before, it's not something they've ever been bad at. They have done particularly well with this Rugby ***le in the graphics area, but the fact remains that Rugby League is the nearest they've produced to Rugby so far and the results were mixed to say the least (or perhaps to say the most). Still, I'm sure they have learned lessons and they could quite possibly produce something really special here.
My own view on the graphics is that they look quite sharp and impressive, yet the players have something of a baby-faced thing going for them, some of the proportions (giant hands) are a little wrong and some of the licensed likenesses are more questionable than the the really big names that they've modelled extremely well.
The colours seem extremely vibrant in an almost cartoonish fashion and although the contrasts are amazing within the conext of shadows and lit areas I find find that some of the colour aspects look a little to anime to me. It seems like the difference between the realism of Top Spin tennis (RWC, but less good graphics maybe) and Virtua Tennis (RC).
Don't get me wrong I like the graphics, but it seems a little off to me. To be totally fair though, this is their first rugby crack and graphically it's awesome for that.
More people will have played RC by Wednesday then the amount of people who have played RWC.
The so called goons are the ones who contribute to the RWC'11 section and RC section only, but then its easy for the newbies to come here and take a pop at staff and others because they are open minded about RWC'11 and put the spiel out that 'the TRF partnership' / staff are window lickers. If people have had their say about how rubbish the game is going to be / not going to purchase why do they continuously carry on posting in the RWC section?
Just remember this forum is about Rugby and not just about games ... or have people seemingly forgotten that? Be nice to see people contribute to other areas of the site.
Rugby challenge it is then....
