Chavanga smokes them all.
To be fair, Monye had momentum from the intercept and a 10-15m head start before Nokwe could chace him, and Nokwe looked to be gaining on Ugo, though obviously not enough considering Monye's head start. That is one thing I don't like, when players have an obvious head start and score the try. and yet the player chacing got smoked. For example Sivivatu was probeblly 10-15m away from Chavhanga when Chavhanga "smoked him", The only realy way of telling is when they start from a simular spot with a difference of 3-5 metres, then it is a real race, and it is clear who is faster.Well i think Ugo Monye deserves a mention. Nokwe is one of the fastest players in SA, and couldn't catch him.
Monye has to be the fastest in Europe. Definitely in the Top10 i reckon. Chavhanga still takes top spot in my books. Any newcomer anyone has heard of that can burn???[/b]

All Black superstar Joe Rokocoko says that Stormers wing Tonderai Chavhanga is the "fastest man in rugby at the moment".
Rokocoko views Chavhanga as a major threat to his Blues side in Saturday's Super 14 clash against the Stormers at Newlands.
"He (Chavhanga) is a class player, there's no doubt about that. He is just the fastest man in rugby at the moment. The fastest ever is between him and Rupeni Caucaunibuca, and obviously Habana. There's just too many!" he told the Cape Times on Tuesday at the team hotel in the city bowl.
"But Tonderai is in my top three or four of all time. He is a guy that you can't give too much space to. He is just so light he can float on the ground. With normal wingers you can give them a bit of space, but you just can't afford that with him."[/b]

Epic confusion!Acording to Martyn Williams' Lions blog, there wasn't much between Ugo Monye and Shane Williams, and then according to the WalesOnline webchat with Leigh Halfpenny, there isn't much between Shane and Mark Jones, but aparently Leigh is quicker than Mark, who's also the same as Sean Lamont- Slower than both the Evans brothers according to Sean's brother.
Try solving that one.[/b]
Lelia Masaga's pretty quick and he's got a team mate in the Counties George Stowers that looks pretty damn fast too scored a couple of unbelievable tries.
I think for acceleration you can't go pass the little fullaz like Shane Williams, Jason Robinson etc. That's probably for the first 20m or so but anything after that it'll have to be guys like Chavagna, Nokwe, Habana etc.
How about who everyone thinks is the slowest wingers? I was watching the Taranaki vs Canterbury game and Stephen Brett passed a intercept to the Taranaki winger Shayne Austin but chased immediately and caught him about 60-70m down the field. Either Brett was really determined to right his wrong or Austin is slow.[/b]

Chavachanga - No doubt about it.[/b]
