Exclusive First View of Rugby World Cup 2011

How many requests for an unfinished screenshot with basic models were there before this was released? Now it seems like that's what's been released and............
I had been saying this for weeks that people need not worry about screenshhots for the time being as they will probably be a tad disappointed...as usual I am never wrong ...ever

This is Rugby 08 (with the TRF10 mod Patch) featuring Fiji v Samoa at Eden Park
(on hindsight, I'd have played it on easy because it took bloody ages to grab a shot remotely similar in terms of player positioning!)
This is the RWC game of the same match:
Similar scenario, but don't try to convince yourself they look similar. Especially as the TRF10 patch (or even the MUP) made Rugby 08 look 1000x better.

How can Samoa end up with 7 points after 80 if they have 3 after 20 minutes? Good win for Fiji though

New background definitely looks better... But I think the 08 players actually look better...

It is amazing how many members appear from the cracks in the time space continuum when some new news is released about the Rugby World Cup 2011 game; most only seem to bring criticisms and I'm guessing it is because it's so dark in the cracks that they are always annoyed.
I quite like the look of the new game, but it is clearly not the finished article; we still have 4/5 months until it is released and I am confident many members will have to eat their own words when they play it for the first time.

Kit and squad updates are my bet.
I also think the players look shocking and seem to be chasing all together, unless as suggested there had been a line out or scrum prior.
Sidhe definitely looks more impressive, but its hard to compare because of the fact that:
a.there aren't any players in Sidhe's screenshots,
b.the lighting is completely different. ( is this supposed to be some sort of night fog? )
The fans and stuff look cool on both, and it seems the post protector things have creases on them?!
Anyway, Im not sure of the strategy of HB, whether they release sub standard screenshots now for something big at E3, but we'll see.

HB is not going to show you its full hand at this point. You only get to take a peak at low lod players for now and you will have to wait for the good stuff to be released in the future. They have some amazing stadiums, I've seen them. The haters will switch sides yet. I guarantee it.
These images are also compressed pretty badly so just hold in there. (maybe the admins can dig up the uncompressed originals and repost)

and the extreme bunching???
in game screen shots like this one are tricky to tell how the game will be, its clearly not the finished product. The stadium, crowds, posts etc all look good, but then you dont spend much time watching them but helps to add to the experience. The players are a bit unclear but once they have got their proper shirts on, numbers etc i hope that they will become sharper. The dive looks a little fake but then i did like the big dives at the end of a break away from the other games. sometimes it did cause issues but that was always your own fault for getting too cocky.
Hoping at E3 we might get a video clip or something, know its alot to ask for but then we can get a real idea of how the game will be. surely they cant just be showing off these two screen shots, but this is where all information is meant to be released first so gonna be keeping a close eye on the forum. We asked for screen shots so happy that we got some even if they are not quite what i expected. Thank you HB, keep up the good work.
