I must confess to being somewhat underwhelmed with the shots.That said, they're low res and show everything in teeny-weeney-o-vision. The guys who make the Rugby 08 mods will confirm that the kits & faces isn't a massive thing to put right, so I should expect them to look a lot better by the final release once all kits & squads relating to the WC are announced.

The screenshots look alright, i'm kind of glad they aren't amazing like FIFA, i hate games that spend too much time of the 'look' of players.

Ah! Finally managed to get back on the forum in some way or form!

I have to say, i wouldn't pre-order this game based on those screenshots. Not the quality (they are terrible) but i can see that the game looks identical in gameplay stills to R08.. and i already own PS2 R08.

More will be announced over a period of time, there are alot of jumps and approvals which HB Studios need to go through to get permission to launch a screenshot...

I hate pointing out when people say this, but "next gen"? It stopped being "next gen" about 2-3 years ago. This is current gen. The PS3 has been out 5 years and the Xbox just about 6!

Otherwise why not play Jonah Lomu Rugby? That's ridiculous, that's taking the point on graphics to the extreme. Some people are saying that graphics are not that important in the context that they don't need to be quite leading the field. They can be "okay" by current standards rather than "wowing" people and the game could still be awesome.

That's because there are other factors. If you have awesome gameplay better than ever before, incredible animations and solid physics, an almost perfectly bug-free game, smooth online play and just "okay" current gen graphics, it's not the end of the world about the graphics surely?

Yeah but none of the previous rugby games have made it to the Ps3 generation. It seems they are calling it a next gen game solely on the basis that it's coming out on the Xbox 360 and Ps3, but it doesn't look like something a Ps2 can't handle.

My point about the graphics is that it doesn't even look ok for now. It even looks like its taken a backward step from Rugby 08/Rugby06. I think there's a boundary to how ok the graphics can look especially when you're considering it's coming out on the Ps3 and Xbox 360. I'm not expecting a WOW factor but i would like to not feel underwhelmed at a first glance.

What you say last has a lot of ifs but i hope you're right. For now i'll keep my optimism up and reserve judgement for future info releases.

Looks better than I was expecting. Still not great ecspecially since graphics are usually worse than the images released.

i'd say youre totally wrong, normally in gameplay screenshots don't do the actual running gameplay justice at all, I'm hyped.

See my post above, I think this may have something to do with it, as they need to make things as generic as possible, so a lot of the finishing work can't be shown yet, because they are not allowed to...

I know that this might not be the final product, but gee wizz, give us at least one finished product screenshot.

I am so so so dissapointed. Im not dissing this game at all, i will buy it for sure, but i thought we will play with life like caracters, not 2d ones???

Lest see what they release in E3 this week, cant wait, hope its awesome!!!!!!!

Must be PSP2 graphics, cos if its PS3 or Xbox 360 it looks worse than rugby 2008
