Exclusive First View of Rugby World Cup 2011

Right Everyone just a reminder that this is an Exclusive Sneak Peak and First Look at the Game, there will be more information, Screenshots and other lovely information coming up over the next week.

This is just the start of it all, E3 should be very exciting next week. Stay tuned to The Rugby Forum for the latest information!

Just a reminder this is a teaser, also I would like to remind people although we are posting the information for RWC 2011, we are still individual, we allow every member on this forum, to be able to put a valid view point on both games, we do urge you tho to keep Rugby Challenge Discussions in the Rugby Challenge Forum, and RWC 2011 in the Rugby 2012 forum.

Also as a lot of people are joining to see these images, I would also like to ask you to have a look round the forums, as we are more than just a place for the game information, we have some great discussion over Rugby Union in both hemispheres, and Rugby League in Both Hemispheres, so please have a look round the forum.

This settles it I'm going for the SIDHE version. Rug Chug all the way

When will you be releasing some gameplay footage? :) I can't wait for this game! :D :D :D :D

If thats the best screenshots I'ma little worried. Players look funny and all them chasing players are bunched all funny, like every other rugby game ever invented for the console. Nice to see some actual screenshots on the plus side. Keep em comin.

a) Please discuss the Sidhe game in the Sidhe sub-forum, this is for Rugby World Cup

b) No one can say that Rugby Challenge is better as no one has played on both to compare them. To judge two entire games based on two screenshots each is just daft

Also comparing Ingame screenshots (these) to pre-rendered screenshots (rugby challenge, can't say they are 100% ingame tbh looks "too polished" aka pre-rendered) is pointless as it will get you nowhere. As pre-rendered images will always look 10x better than ingame counterparts just use Killzone 2's original trailer to the actual game as an example, first trailer = pre-rendered looks way better than the actual game.

Funny how people are writing this game off on a couple of screen shots. Sidhes are not even of an actual match but likely to be more of half time, intro, break video thing, which always look impressive. (i might be proved wrong but it is rare to get a close up view of the stand otherwise). I think alot of people will be changing their views once this game is closer to release. I hope both games are gonna be awesome and ground breaking. It seems both developers are trying not to give too much away as it is still early. Look forward to see what comes out at E3.....a little video or even people able to play a match, maybe!!!

those screenshots are a **** take haha. Its just a teaser from hb. Im sure the screenshots coming up wil be much better. It wont be that bad. Looking forward to the sishe game much more than this tho.

Looks very Lomu-esque. If it plays like Lomu, I'll be happy. Just so long as it doesn't cost me $100 at JB HIFI ;p

I dont see any flags in the crowd. Hope it aint like that through out the whole game! It is world cup? The crowd look boring but thanx for the pics..cant wait for more..

are you guys high? this looks woeful...the graphics are abominable....i won't fork out for this if it looks like that....sidhe's 'rugby challenge' appears to be shaping up much better than this but we'll see what they release from E3 this week

The 2 stadium screenshots we have released are not prerendered. They are realtime, in engine screenshots with no after capture image processing.

any chance rwc 2011 has the backbreaker euphoria engine?

Sidhe 's Rugby Challenge is using a euphoria based engine in there game, not quite the same as in Backbreaker, i think this one is called morpheme, as opposed to natural motion.

To clarify, Natural Motion makes multiple packages to support the development of videogames. Morpheme is an animation management and blending package. Euphoria is a physics simulation package. Rugby Challenge uses Morpheme, but not Euphoria. Morpheme and Euphoria are not the same thing (they are trying to solve different "problems").

To be honest these shots are not great...hopefully these are from early development; because the graphic/Visual quality looks very PS2-ish. I thought they( HB ) were going for Quality over Quantity...now it looks like no quality or quantity. Hope i am wrong; just basing my opinion on these two shots. Already pre-ordered this game, because HB Claimed the Visuals would be Great or something along those lines. C'mon HB!!! Thanks 4 the Shots; but maybe some High Resolution shots of Players close up will lift the excitement a bit.

Seriously guys... before you comment on the games graphics zoom in...the image itself is poor quality and as a result the graphics appear to be also..
I advise nobody to jump to conclusions yet.

Hoping we see some good stuff from E3 next week; very keen. Don't think these two shots are a true reflection of the Visual/Graphic quality of this game; we should know for sure soon. Go HB and 505!!!

players look like they need a bit of improvement graphic wise looks quite dissappointing
