European Challenge Cup 20/21

Shows how much they rate McIlroy but definitely surprised it's not Lowry at 15 and Stockdale on the wing. Wonder if it's for the extra height vs Steward.

No Madigan?
But nice mix. Prefer Stockdale on wing but hope Ulster do it. Great to see Addison getting back

Yeah very good to have him, He's a quality operator

Re McIlroy i rate him pretty highly, very elusive, great hands and good under high ball. He's got the tools, if he puts in the work he'll be a cracking player. Lowry is a great impact sub too

Bad feeling about this game
Back 3 is pretty slow against some speedy Ulster men.
Big back row no turnover specialist
No JVP despite outplaying Youngs last week
Centres and Front row only really the things i'm happy with.

I'd say you guys have a big advantage in the front row for sure, our back row isnt particularly amazing, though I rate Rea decently and Timoney has started to fill the potential of someone with his athleticism. Our Centres and Back 3 are gonna be lethal if we can get going, and our second row is really bolstered by Hendy. Could be an exciting game, any boys to pay attention to on Leicester side of things?

I think Martin, Liebenberg, Wiese are players to watch BUT balance is a worry. Martin had most tackles in both the other knockout games, Liebenberg IMO is Tigers most important player and Wiese is a monster carrier.

Backs
Steward will most likely be chasing Ford's kicks for 80 minutes
Moroni is key defence wise for us

Could be an interesting battle then, I'd imagine Ulster will not be putting up quite so many kicks, certainly when out of their own half. Expect McCloskey off first phase, and if you dont put him down quickly and early you will struggle
Lots of choke tackles from our centres, and the wings are good under high ball
Is moroni the little italian full back of a year or two ago?

I've never really watched challenge cup before, but 3 really good teams playing (cant remember the 4th), so the really quite excited for the game tonight. If only Marcell was fit for a swansong

Less than 200 seconds into the game and Marty Moore is already out on his feet struggling to walk from ruck to ruck

Really hope ulster don't follow in Leinster a footsteps of losing to a soon to be Championship team

Really nice build up, Stockdale's playmaking definitely an underrated aspect of his game.

Edit: definite knock on from Timoney though.

The speed of that build up was remarkable. Just need consistency now. When we play like that I think we'll be very hard to beat.

Yay first card. While Borthwick has made huge improvements the simple fact is that discipline is a huge issue.

That was a monster carry for the try, good help from the latch too.
