Champions Cup 24/25 - Round 2

new rule: French teams have to have at least 5 teenagers on the bench in group stage matches

brace needed to sort this out in the first half: Ramos will eventually take justice out of someone's eyes

Toulouse have the two best 50/22 kickers in the world to add to a litany of talents across the park. They're so strong right now.

I am genuinely curious as to how Toulouse would do against an International Team.

I think they would beat any international team with the exceptions of South Africa, New Zealand and France.

Definitely a second string team, but not truly out of choice. Stormers have a pretty decent first team, but practically no depth. The last of our big known names got injured last weekend, the rest have been injured prior to this. We are meant to have a front row of Malherbe Dweba and Kitshoff… meanwhile in reality…

Our season in all competitions is practically over already. The best we can hope for is we discover some young players who step up well. But I think we would be lucky to finish top 10 in the URC and will likely be last in the SA log.

Just adding to this as I just saw a useful infographic of our injuries. That's 9 Springboks out for us on top of our horrendous lack of depth (legacy financial challenges likely impacting our talent acquisition and losing some of our top talent e.g. Dayimani).

Interesting about the revenue from the South African sides, more than 50% of the total URC revenue and a big boost to the European Competitions via Investec, who are a South African company and the main sponsor.
