Euro 2020[1]

I fancy England to deal with Ukraine quite easily. Their best two players are Zinchenko and Yarmalenko who both struggle to get a game for Man City and West Ham.

I think Denmark pose the biggest challenge to England reaching the final. They look like a proper team unit and gave Wales a pretty solid pumping. Perhaps the Eriksen cardiac incident has galvanised them. I think Italy will edge out Spain due to their superior defence. Have a feeling it'll be Italy v England in the final with it being a very cagey low scoring affair.

Hope so, but just can't tell with the dynamic of the match and it being a QF; and not at Wembley. England's biggest danger now is having a let down after such a big win and think they now have it plain and sailing from now until the Final. They are not there yet.

They are building up hope and expectation again in the country and it would be a massive let down now if they don't end up going all the way. Especially with the semi and final being played at Wembley. But no guarantees as we saw with Portugal in 2004 and France in the last Euros being at home and losing in their home final.

No easy games now regardless of who they face. But this is their time to grab it.

England will never have another chance like this to win the Euros which means they're guaranteed to lose to Ukraine.

Oh yeah fact, not trying to disparage anything or anyone apart from Rice and Grealish! England absolutely should reach the final now, they're better than three years ago and none of their potential opponents are as good at the Croatia team that knocked them out. I just don't fancy them matched up against a Spanish side that will dominate possession or another strong defensive side.

FWIW whenever Ireland break our QF hoodoo I fully expect us to whimper out in the semi without a fight, Ukraine with 120 mins of football under their belt, marginally less rest time and marginally more travel time is a dream draw though and should set ye up for an assault on the Danes, if they beat Czech Republic which hopefully they do because CR play miserable football.

Apart from Grealish being an absolute dick for drink driving, what's the issue with him and Rice again? From vague recollection is it because they chose not to play for ROI?

Grealish isn't as bad to be fair, made his decision at u21, played for both nations u21 sides too. He's still represented Ireland more times than England and made strong representations that he was going to play for us.

Rice is a pure **** with no character whatsoever. Played with Ireland from u16 up until and including senior level where he has three caps, has also represented Ireland more times than England at all levels. Kissed the badge, even tweeted "up the ra" multiple times (not that I condone that but hardly irrelevant).

Both were happy to use FAI resources and underage/national teams as a stepping stone, made incredibly strong representations that they were going to play for us and have nearly 50 appearances between them that would have been better used nurturing other talent.

Comparing it to guys like Patrick Bamford, played one u18 game but had refused call ups before that, made it clear he wants to play for England and we're very much a back up at best and has done the same in his senior career. There's no wonder they're both hated over here.

Whatever about Grealish, Rice in particular played 3 times for Ireland at the senior level and managed to worm out of it because they were only friendlies, which is a joke. Every indication he had made was of how proud he was to be playing for Ireland, crest kissing, (idiotic) Ra tweeting until his career takes off and Southgate comes calling.

Even in our hayday we've always brought in English born lads to stay competitive because our domestic game is at best an opportunity for lads to catch the eye of an English club, and at worst a shambles, so it comes with the territory, you'll win some and lose some, but how Rice went about it was pretty poor form imo.

Its definitely a complicated one for young lads, Irish qualified but English at heart. At schoolboy level one comes knocking but the other is so competitive to get into the setups. Even play age grade international gives you more exposure to bigger clubs and therefore money. In rugby we know most kids playing with potential will likely get picked up at some point but its simply not the case other sports are littered with talented footballers who made the sure bet rather than the risky one.

But yeah fully understand the Irish grumpiness it wasn't like a couple of run outs for either of the lads they used the system to their advantage and then moved on when it was no longer to their requirements.

England fans being told not to go to Rome. Will they listen?

I thought the booing of the German anthem was pretty loud. Don't know why it surprised me but it did. Well, maybe the loudness of it more than anything.

Before anyone engages in a bit of whataboutism, everyone knows it's acceptable, nay moral, to boo God Save The Queen.

England view Germany as the 'Old Enemy'. 2 World Wars and 1 World Cup and all that.
I'll go further as Mitch Been put it in Song for Europe

"We're a bunch of stupid racist chavs, so while I'm here **** us"

The full setup for this gag is how in Eurovision someone should go up and sing what everyone thinks anyway.

Just realised is we win Johnson is going to a John Terry....

Its interesting I think for the first time I can remember we actually have a major party leader that doesn't have to pretend to like Football.

I'm honest I really only care during major tournaments.
