I'm a proud and hopeful Swede tonight seeing as the Jocks let me down.
Honestly it's not just great for England.

Sweden Ukraine is a very good match, both playing ambitious football. Very different Sweden to the groups.

Twitter very divided by that red. Punished based on the result rather than intent, rugby used to it, soccer obviously not. Looked like a football incident to me, the Ukrainian player more clumsy of the two.

Missed it live but looked pretty bad from this picture.
Just saw it replayed. Foot was high.
All good for England if they play full 120 and then possible pens.

More my line of thinking but not a hill I'm going to die on.
Picture is worse than the tackle for me. Can see both sides, not much else he can do there and makes a fairly routine clearance before getting unlucky, but at the same time a foot planted in that area is as textbook a red card as you get in football. Ukranian lad needs to take some of the blame too but can understand the decision.
Equivalent of an accidental high shoulder/tackle in rugby I suppose, leads to unfortunate cards.

If it was a tackle I'd think it was a red but the Ukrainian never had possession.
Has all worked out well for England anyway, Sweden are good enough to park the bus and break, Ukraine won't cause any trouble.
England v Denmark and Spain v Italy are my semi predictions.

I've thought England would win every game so far fwiw!
Reckon Southgate will come undone at some stage possibly by a 0-0 in either of the next two games and lose pens, a Danish smash and grab or far more likely against Italy or Spain in the final. I think for England to win they'll need to meet Belgium or get to penalties in the final.

No doubt the pressure will ramp up and games will get harder: Next one in Rome with few England fans.
But to beat Germany in a knockout stage can’t be underestimated and that weight of history lifting from the players was palpable. Bit like if Ireland beat their QF hoodoo at RWC and that’s only been since 1987.

I fancy England to deal with Ukraine quite easily. Their best two players are Zinchenko and Yarmalenko who both struggle to get a game for Man City and West Ham.
I think Denmark pose the biggest challenge to England reaching the final. They look like a proper team unit and gave Wales a pretty solid pumping. Perhaps the Eriksen cardiac incident has galvanised them. I think Italy will edge out Spain due to their superior defence. Have a feeling it'll be Italy v England in the final with it being a very cagey low scoring affair.
Been the best euros in a while.
