The argitenia 10 played against Gloucester the other week, very quick feet and good on the ball, could cause problems

What? Landajo like Knoyle?

I'm sorry but that is completely way off the mark. For a start Landajo is only 5 foot 7, Knoyle is a quite a lot bigger and heavier at 6 foot 2. Knoyle with his size is a bigger more physical scrum half, in the type of Conor Murray or Mike Phillips. Were you thinking of somebody else? Because Landajo certainly isn't that type of scrum half.

Landajo is a replica Argentine version of Gareth Cooper. For a start he's exactly the same height and weight, and secondly their styles are exactly the same kind of darting scrum half type who looks for breaks. They are even similar right down to the fact they both have not such a good kicking game.

I wrote an article for Melhor's website a while ago, previewing the Pampas XV's Vodacom Cup campaign with some players to watch. There's a video of Landajo on it, on the second clip he is creating a try from a scrum half dart which looks like vintage Cooper.

No, I meant Knoyle. I recognise he's not the size of Knoyle, but in terms of playing style, he's fairly well-built for his stats, and is fond of a hand-off and a dart, but his service is pretty slick. I don't see the Cooper comparison, but then I don't remember Cooper from any earlier than perhaps 06/07, by which time he was on that steep slide down. Gareth Davies might actually be a closer comparison than Knoyle, to be fair.

As for the front row situation, I don't disagree on Gethin starting, he's one of the most talented props the world has ever seen in the loose certainly, but in the scrum he only seems to be as good as the tighthead he's alongside, which is brilliant if he's with Adam, but when paired with Scott Andrews concerns start creeping in. We'll find out just how good a player Aaron Jarvis is tomorrow, I suppose.

Landajo and Knoyle are very different.
For starters, Landajo is actually a decent scrum half.
2005 era Cooper was a sight to behold. Just behind Phillips for best Welsh scrumhalf of the decade (prepares for incoming attack).

Anyone know if any decision has been made about the roof for tomorrow. I wonder if Argentina would prefer to leave it open if it's raining? I'd expect Wales to prefer the roof to be closed if there's a chance of rain.

Not these days. We are usually the team to demand the roof open.
I never thought I'd see the day England wanted the roof closed against us.

I really like Tav. So harrumpth.

Dodgy looking welsh lineup to say the least. Argentina could take this one...

I wouldn't say it's too dodgy. There's been much worse.... Priestland is the big worry.

I've seen enough of Aaron Jarvis to suggest that he will hold his own in this match, he's a very decent scrummaging tighthead. Obviously not at the level of Adam Jones, but I'd be surprised to see him bullied. I doubt the Welsh scrum will be dominant, and they may take a couple of steps backwards in a few scrums, but it's not something I'm overly concerned about. The bench options in that area are quite strong with Paul James and Hibbard able to come on to add some power in that department. No real second-row cover is also a bit of a worry I must admit.

Whilst Turnbull wouldn't have been my choice, he is a decent player who has shown signs in the past of being much more than that. He will work his socks off, of that I am sure. Knoyle also won't let anyone down. Whilst Scott Williams is possibly third choice at 13 (if Howley would have considered shifting Roberts is Beck was fit), he's still a very good play. Has been prone to butcher an opportunity now and again, but is also capable of some real class moments as well.

Arguably one of our biggest strengths in this match could be our bench (apart from the lack of second row cover I mentioned). There is some serious impact chomping at the bit to come on. Hibbard has been the best hooker in Wales and is massively unlucky not to be starting, but the impact he offers is huge. Bevington isn't the finished article, but he also offers a decent amount of impact, especially with his carrying and tackling. Paul James can come on and provide some real grunt to the scrum. Tipuric is in fine form (again unlucky not to be starting), and could really open up a possibly tiring Argentina side towards the end. I don't think the impact Phillips offers needs to be pointed out, whilst Hook and Liam Williams also really offer something if required. McCusker is probably the worst bench player, and even he is an athletic player who not too long ago was being touted as a future star player.

Argentina are going to be tough, and I expect a close game. But I think Wales should take it so long as we aren't too rusty.

We like welsh rugby, ur flag is cool, there´s a respectable welsh community in Patagonia BUT Arg will win! Pumas by 1! :)

There are even villages in Patagonia where is only spoken old welsh...

Yup. My dad has always wanted to visit Patagonia in order to experience this. The Welsh spoken in Patagonia is actually quite similar to the Welsh still spoken in Wales, especially North Wales. But then the Welsh language hasn't changed massively for a long time. Of course Patagonians use quite a few Spanish words, in the same way quite a few English words are used here in Wales, especially in regards to modern objects and issues (technology etc.).

I found it quite interesting to bump into a a couple of women from Patagonia in a coffee shop back home in Aberystwyth, mid Wales a few years ago. Their grasp of the English language was quite basic, so they were visiting Wales and communicating solely through the Welsh language. We could understand each other very well.

Bye Felipe... hope u are well: Contenpomi out  6-6 It´s a good match! let´s see...

Wales can't play basic rugby ... 3 times Wales have had an overlap and decide to chuck out miss passes instead of straightening and giving the pass.

If we could catch / pass properly it would help.

So many professional teams do the same Cymro. I can never understand how professional rugby players don't understand that drawing and passing is better than throwing a missed pass, one of the first things you're taught as a child!

Overall, looking a little rusty, but happy with the scrum and defence so far.

Roberts off with a clash of heads. Looked ok when he came off, but we'll have to wait and see if he's ok for next week, he might well have concussion.

Ye the simple and basics of rugby.

Rusty in attack but as you said Dull defence and scrum / lineout going well. Got to keep it up.

Poite missing a bit offside from Argentina at the breakdown and also they are entering from the side of the gate.

However Argentina trying to play some rugby early on.

A lot of Argentinian lineouts haven't looked straight to me.

Thought North was gonna get away then. Great tackle though.

Edit. Fair play, Aaron Jarvis has had a storming start to his international career!

Aye lot not straight.

Cracking tackle by Camacho mind.

Argh Wales frustrating when they come in from the side, Argentina far more clinical at the breakdown.
