No, I am not bagging the team. I think that this team in particular has been rather overrated and coasting for quite some time now, against opponents who haven't been paying their best.
What has happened tonight is a team has outplayed us and we have been found wanting in many areas, specifically something has worried me for some time -- the game plan.

I would say this:
20 games unbeaten, easy tests in Europe this Autumn at that point, England highly disappointing after a VERY GOOD 6N...NZ actually underestimated ENG.
They came in on standard form...which is very good. But England came in saying "let's shock the world. We've lost the last two, we've made bad decisions...but we've got one hell of a scrum, forward work, huge defense potential and if the Tuilagis+Ashtons click, we've got a serious chance at home here in Twick."

They hammered NZ, one big shot after the next - and then the results showed and they never looked back and played above their best for another 30min, and another 30min...

We were bloody terrible. Our best players just simply did not step up today. Carter, McCaw, Conrad Smith all terrible. If we are going to lose though we should at least lose to a team playing well though and England did that today. Beating another one of the top five teams for ten years was an insane run that had to come to and end. Still a disappointing performance from the boys though. A sad way to end the season but still a very good season overall.

How wrong was I about Tuilagi? Amazing performance from him and the whole of the England forward pack. The scary thing is is that this team is so inexperienced, imagine a couple of years time in 2015, home advantage, will they take it?
