EOYT: England v New Zealand, 01/12/2012

This shows why you shouldn't take players over to make up the numbers and not use them. Most of this regular crew are burned out from a huge season. Still, England would've beaten them playing like this if they'd played a couple of months ago.

omg no...we're going to have English fans drunk with smelling their own farts for MONTHS....
who knows, maybe years !...

Great performance by England. EXTREMELY good defense...but I suppose this shows how fragile NZ become when they trail a game...they'll lose momentum because they're not used to it...:p

I am currently sat here under two duvets with a bemused expression on my face wondering how on earth this can get better.

Burns for Farrell!? Lancaster has balls of steel.

Carters worst game in history I think. Cant think of him being much more flat than this.... maybe in his first couple a seasons and maybe the quater against france.

That's right. We're not the best score chasers out there and exactly why I said before this match that if England could hold parity or better at half time that they could win.

As opposed to the rest of the time when we all have to smell your farts...

The truth of the matter is Carter is great in a team that is dominating. He is not a great player under pressure, he never has been.

I was feeling crazy this morning and thought I'd bet on England -was going to go for an England win but then went for England by 1-12, as it was slightly better odds and though we might (in a bjillion years) be able to sneak it.

The English have definately come forth to carry their supporters home. Excellent game!

France will be sitting at home watching this with great intrest. I predict bad things for us in that test series if this is anything to go off. We've been found out in this game big time.

I thought after the second half started England would be out of wind and NZ would get like a 10pt win. I thought the English defense couldn't hold the entire game, I thought after the 60' mark they'd tire down and allow some AB's to cross the lines.
And not making excuses for NZ, England have been FANTASTIC...but I dunno wtf is up generally though. Carter missing penalties right in front of the post...it's like they had a feeling before the game or smt.

This is like a 2010 AUS game, when ENG gain momentum at home, they get like "drunk" with energy and pride and steamroll.

AB's are stunned atm...

To answer my own question, I've just found a very good sherry cask expression Bruichladdich, which I'll be drinking to toast England's victory.

I know they are tired after a long season, but I think a loss for this team is ultimately a good thing. They are going to have to reassess some things they have frankly been coasting on. We'll see what goods Hansen has, that's for sure.

You see saw from one extreme to the other. All Blacks have always found it tough playing England in England
