England vs Wales - 12/08/23

Well my expectations have been lowered from thinking we had a shot at this WC at the end of the last one to just hoping they have mastered the complex art of catching the ball...
 
Bit disappointed 2 of my favourite players haven't had the chance to start a match before the squad is announced. Will be annoyed if Basham and Kieran Williams only get 15/20 min off then bench. They deserve a half at least.

Figured it may be too much to start both uncapped centres. Hoefully plenty of time for Kieran off the bench.

Yeah you're probably right I just don't really get the logic of needing experience in there when the primary concern, in my humble opinion, should be to have a look at players we need some answers on. I'll riot if they only get 15/20 mins as what can you really do in that time? Hopefully Kieran sits down a few people but the question mark Gatland will have about him is his defence I would imagine so fingers crossed he puts in some big hits as that will please Gatland more, and Foreshaw obviously.

Yes, he must be. Was just chatting to my brother and saying that's one big positive that we should have a look at him in the row. Ideally Beard pulls out with a minor strain before kick off and we get to have a proper look at Tshiunza and Rhys Davies as a pair.
 
I'd go full strength as we need a victory!

Yeah, I'd go as close to full strength as we can manage, too
I read something that Manu isn't in contention for this week - not injured, just managing game time (maybe he's pencilled in to start vs Ireland?)

I saw Rugby Inside Line had collated the predicted sides from all the rugby journos and they all had Itoje at 6 and Lawes at 4, and were saying it's a bit weird for them all to come to that conclusion independently considering Lawes hasn't played lock in years, so I imagine we're quite likely to see that

You forgot Hill and May. Got to have a couple of players not in the squad.
 
When's the last time England lost four on the bounce other than in a test series. Could quite easily be five with Ireland coming up away. Then i can easily see Argentina beating us as I'll confidence will be shot.
