England Vs South Africa

I don't think anyone here anticipated England being nilled in tonights game, but a good south african team that played ok really made you feel england just weren't going to score throughout the game.
The saffa's had another 2 gears which they didn't use, yet england seemed to struggle hugely when it came to attack. There was no creativity and Jason Robinson was trying the old jinking run routine - and fair play to him for trying to mix it up - but the poor bugger hasn't been good at that for years.

South Africa deserved the win, but i think England will see the semi finals - Samoa just won't have the class.

 :roflrol: :girl_haha: :lol2: :lol2: :sarcastic: :sarcastic_hand: :yahoo: SA WINS!
FLAWLESS VICTORY!

Well that was one of the most Turgid games I have watched this world cup. South Africa played pretty average a very limited game - just kept kicking the ball down the park. Du Preez was a class act but no one else stood out for them. Their scrum and lineout were shaky. Their Defence was very good but the England attack was appalling. Tonight they were only a 6 or 7 out of 10 but they did not need to be any more. Their discipline was excellent as well.

If I was an england supporter the think that would **** me off was the team were passionless- I do remember one Offensive tackle in the whole game, no in the Boks faces- it was so Flat. If you are going to lose at least go out fighting.
Shaun Perry is a dreadful scrumhalf he is actully worse then Stringer and that is something.
I felt sorry for Jason robinson who played very well and was the only player who offered anything in attack and did well with the high balls.
I actually cannot see you beating Samoa

Never seen such powerless England side on a pitch... looked even more fragile than in the 2006 Six Nations game in Paris when we beat them 31 - 6...

The forwards looked brainless and the backs looked clueless about when they had the ball... and Farrell is so F....ing slow with the ball !!! incredible !!! Steyn was "walking" to him when defending... :p

And when the only good player on the pitch got injured... well... it was never going to get better for England...

I was impressed to see that the Boks were so accurate with the kicks, placing them everywhere they wanted... also very good on the discipline side, not much fouls...

and with England's performance tonight comes a difficult question... are they capable of beating Samoa, therefore making it to the quarter-finals ??? ;)

And I'd like to note that the offensive tackle only came out of frustration when england were down 26-0, and it was a bit of a hospital tipped pass.

Yeah, that struck me aswell. They never gave themselves a chance at the breakdown cause their defense was so passive.

It appears the only good thing for England is that it should all be over soon. Damn I really sympathise with the English supporters. I havent felt that bad watching an Irish game since ............. well since last Sunday actually (and then the game before that). Its the manner in which they lost that would hurt the most.

As for the Boks. That is the first performance Ive seen from them that leads me to believe they can actually win the WC. 36-0, away from home, and they didnt even break a sweat. The performance from Fourie Du Preez was unlike any Scrum Half Performance Ive seen since VanDeCantSpellHisName. Simply awesome.

That was poor. Robinson was the only player to take the game to the Boks, England were embarrasing, running into dead ends, no expansive game at all. The Boks had 2 or 3 levels left.

p.s. Get in the Warriors, first win against the Saints in 8 attempts.

Well, at least England won that 49-20 and Cohen scored 4 trys... Oh, wait, that was me playing Rugby 08 earlier today.

I don't think I've ever seen such a pathetic display from an international team;

Stevens; Good scrummaging, gave away too many penalties in the loose and at the breakdown.
Regan; Useless, fat, Bristolian c***.
Sheridan; Remained annonimous
Kay; Needs shooting... What the hell was he thinking trying to chip the ball?
Shaw; No spark
Corry; Improved as the game went on, still shows why he's not of international standard.
Rees; Tried his best but suffered from lack of support each time he got a break. Wrongfully substituted.
Easter; Same as Rees (without the substitution)
Perry; Useless fat little c*** who expects everyone else to do his job for him. Even Harry "flappin' arms" Ellis is better then him.
Catt; 36 next week? It shows.
Farrell; I'm sorry League fans, but if he's the best player ever then it shows how superior Union is. He can f*** off back to Wigan.
Noon; Entirely his fault that the 1st try was conceded, instead choosing to stand still and watch his man rather then making the tackle, made various outher cock ups throughout.
Sackey; Tried his best, his best wasn't nearl;y good enough.
Lewsey; Didn't look interested.
Robinson; He literally sacrificed his body for that performance. A pitty the rest of those f***wits don't have 1/8 of the heart he showed. If he has to end his career that way, I will kill someone. Proberbly Rob Andrew.

Chuter; Once he came on, lineouts actually worked and the forwards went forwards. Wasn't enough though.
Moody; Did f*** all
Gommersall; Provided plenty of quick ball for Catt and Farrell to ******** up. Must be 1st choice now
Richards; Played for 20 seconds, didn't get near the ball
Tait; A few good breaks, nothing special though. He'll have to up his game next week.

Overall, that was the single WORST performance I've ever seen from an international team. Frankly if that was supposed to be Ashton's expansive game, and not stink of Andrews crap that he made Newcastle suffer for over a decade, I'm a monkeys uncle.

There are fundimental things wrong at the heart of English rugby that need to change, starting with booting out Francis Baron and Rob Andrew.

It was coolness personified from the Boks tonight, never really got out of 3rd gear and yet canter to a 36 point victory, that's impressive.

Perry may have looked decent in the premiership at times but international rugby really is a different kettle of fish, the performance of the 2 scrum-halves were poles apart, just surprised he wasn't taken off before half time he was that bad, seems to have the Isaac Boss syndrome going on, which never helps.

You have to feel for Robinson, the one England player who was giving his all and then he pulls up with his hamstring, never rains but it pours for England, Noon didn't look in too good shape either afterwards but he'd be no loss, was certainly no presence tonight that's for sure.

Kay; Needs shooting... What the hell was he thinking trying to chip the ball?

That summed up England, even i was embarrased for you. Runner to the side, so he slices it, poor rugby from a player getting worse and worse.

England got raped from the Springboks plain and simple lol. Cant wait for the Springboks to play us it should be a good game especially after watching that slaughtering.

I expected the Boks to beat the Poms but to be the world champs and be kept scoreless that just shows the class of the Boks.

Sheridan: I thought he did alright actually. He scrummaged a lot better then I thought he could and always got over the gain line. Maybe only a yard of so, but it was still potential go forward ball.
Noon: I forgot he was playing until about 25 mins into the game he got a mention.
Lewsey: In fairness to him he looked fairly disinterested in the end, but up to then I thought he put in a great defensive performance. Made a few important tackles (one try saving one). He didnt have a chance to do anything else but tackle as the ball didnt go past Farrell.

I feel so sorry for the large packs of English supporters who wasted good money to see a performance like that.

Its sucks to pay to see your team lose, but to lose like that....

SA rugby has come of age, and looking very good. Cant help but feel JW getting Eddie on board is working out to be a masterstroke. The bokke is always very good, but now they are looking very good and very intelligent. Making me a little nervous....

Although it is always tough to judge a performance when they play an inept opposition.

Heres to Wales beating Australia, so RSA and AUS can knock the **** out of each other in the 1/4 final!!

I don't think its that bad Mirlos. Remember that South Africa laboured twice against England in the Autumn of 2006 and only beat a 3rd string England side convincingly.

Ireland meanwhile completely blew away South Africa and Australia in their last meetings in 2006.

The Northern Six can compete with the Southern Hemisphere, its just that there is absolutely no consistency. One win, one loss basically and it is absolutely inexplicable. [/b]

There goes this guys all mighty predictions again

Yeah, got to say one of the things that has impressed me in the 1st 2 RWC games by the Boks has been a greater willingness to give the ball a bit more air. We seem to have added a dimension of width to our game since ol` Eddie Moans got on board.

Used to be all passion, defense and grunt up front, with some tactical kicking thrown into the mix. We still seem to have those, but the added width is getting me a bit excited. And I can`t help feeling that Eddie`s got something to do with it.

I feel like I've just watched my hero died. I feel moronic that I thought they just might win and annoyed by how ineptly they performed. This is easily the worst rugby has made me feel.

1) Sheridan gave his all and deserves to be there next week,
2) Regan hopped around ignorant to the game,
3) Stevens was awesome in the scrum and absolutely w**k in the loose,
4) Shaw ran and ran but with no result,
5) Kay was shite,
6) Corry was too slow and cast useful upset glances as captain,
7) Surprising to think a flanker might be at the breakdown; again showed how it should be done,
8) Who?

9) You can tell he played for Dudley K (who even my club regularly beat),
10) Catt, Farrell? Didn't matter the kicked badly and just shoved it to the guy next to them,
11) Sackey, you'd think he might try a tackle rather than attempting elaborate schemes to avoid the tackle,
12) As for 10 excpet whoever was at IC made the inevitable mistake,
13) Why Noon, No pace, No dynamism, No doubt a good tackler but if your always 20 mins away from the ball what use is it,
14) Lewsey, always commited but too slow, deserves a thumb up,
15) Afullback at fullback, Robbo was at his best till the injury,

Ashton - Afraid to admit he was wrong til too late. Moody's pace was infinitely necessary but he ignored that. Farrel should not be expected to create things at 12, Catt should have done that at 10. Picking the slowest backline ever. And letting Jake White get to Jutge. Ashton was fecking useless and I have lost all respect for him.

Almost forgot congrats boks a win well deserved we in NZ didnt have second thoughts on who was going to win this game. Robinson for me was and still is a world class player, he reminds me of Robinson 06 on the EA games a nippy little **** whos hard to tackle :)
