England vs Australia

Would just like to point out to you that....

Wales wore black jerseys as part of celebrations for the WRU's 125th anniversary in 2005, as Black was one of the colours Wales first wore as a kit against international opponents. So while Wales did wear Black that year, it was for a good reason.

However I do agree that they should stick to certain colours, but then again in this modern day where money is involved, the demand for different colours and kit is there so the unions exploit it.

That does make a good case for the Welsh jersey option that was used at that time.

I think a change every now and again for something special (a major anniversary or historic event) should be exempt, but the constant change of the last 3-5 years from some teams has kind of gone a bit overboard and just a little silly really. :)

Welsh kits of late have just been silly!

on the subject of anniversaries, of course that's fine. Both England and South Africa have worn retro-style kits recently; Wales did it with the Neath style shirt; and I already mentioned the Aussie RL guys wearing the original NSW/ Queensland hoops. Just in the same way it's nice that Leicester wore letters to play in Tuesday, and that my club Richmond went back to skipping the no. 13 when we went bankrupt and dropped out of the leagues (we're in the National leagues now so have to wear 1-15 again).

And I frankly don't mind England or any side having an away kit that is as snazzy as they like; just so long as they only wear it when appropriate, and not for the simple reason that a new kit's been designed and has to be worn once at some point during the year.

Yes, I'm not too fond on the idea of inventing tradition........for money.

omg can we not talk about rugby kit.....

I think england are going to win by 10 points because yes the wallabies are amazing with ball in hand but if we starve them of possesion then i can see gaps in their defence opening up im not sure about quade cooper with Hape or Tindall running at him. Despite the return of moore i can't see a hooker single handedly turning around australia's crappy scrum.

the scrum may depend on the refereeing as well. I remember 2008 when the same aussie front row of alexander, moore and robinson apparently smashed the english scrum when in fact they just got the rub of the green with the reffing every time it collapsed.

Nonetheless, I don't see this game being won or lost on the scrum, seeing as Australia were pushed around all day against Wales and still cruised to a win. We're going to have to take it as given that they're going to score a few tries, so what we have to do is make sure we take every single chance we get. Which means not fluffing overlaps, dropping balls etc. like we did against the All Blacks.

A clinical performance from the backs plus dominance in the tight should see England through if they play with the same mentality as last weekend. If not, we'll get put away.

Yeah, people thinking that this game will go England's way just because of the scrum are kidding themselves... Wales fielded a B&I Lions front row, so I hardly think England's will be much better and we still managed to score plenty of points. That said, I believe that this will be a rainy game, and if it descends into a forward/kicking game, then England will have the edge.

Partly cloudy is the forecast for today, so hopefully the ground'll be alright for a running game

Think they eyes of the ref will be firmly on the Oz front row after being demolished by the Welsh tight five last week. So if anything you can possibly expect anything that goes wrong go against the Oz today!

It's gonna be high intensity stuff if it is. England looked pretty bloody good with the ball in hand last week I thought.

Pretty tough call... Both teams are on form. Will probably be the tightest game of the weekend. Expecting some pretty quality viewing. I'd say England will just about take it

Ah crap it's the same time as the Ireland match... I'd almost be tempted to watch this one instead... but I better not :(

Great first half by the Poms in both attack and defense.
Wallabies are playing like a bunch of poofs.
