England v France

Banahan does pose as a physical threat but I was speaking to someone (rugby legend) today and they seem to think Banahan turns as slow as the QE2 and thats his weakness. This same person also thinks that England will win the 6 nations but he believes that France won't be as tough as Ireland. Banahan can also be a nasty player and he has had out bursts of violence in his career.

That'll be why he's know as "HMS Banahan" to his not-so admirers!

If you needed a rugby legend to tell you that Banahan's a bit slow on the turn you need to get to Specsavers.

Oddly enough, I agree with him about France and Ireland. Hmm. Have I been talking to you in my sleep?

I've have seen enough of Banahan don't worry. In fact I have seen him play as a young amateur and I probably know more about his roots than anyone else on the forum. Mike Catt was the legend I was talking about (He was over training us). He was just giving his opinion on him seeing as he went to London Irish as a lock and now he is centre/wing.

That thought had occured to me, what with it saying Guernsey.

Don't suppose Mr. Catt told you anything else you'd like to share? I'm curious now...

You can probably see why I dislike him so much:D He was always a twat and basically isn't really thought of highly by us Guerns;)

He went into a conversation about how he got flattened by Jonah Lumo and that he played for England instead of SA because he was visiting his grandparents and while plated a few games for Bath and basically took his opportunity. Quite a small guy aswell:lol:

What do people think will happen with Moody for this game? As apparently he'll be fit for it
Put him on the bench, or start him right off of the bat (most likely)?
I imagine the backrow will be:
6. Haskell
7. Moody
8. Easter
19. Wood vs Fourie (hopefully Wood)

Wood doesn't deserve to be dropped to the bench, but I think he will be, over Haskell who will likely just switch back to 6

Rumour has it Moody will be playing for Bath on Saturday. I'd hope that the management don't bring him back in, or if they insist on doing so make him a straight swap for Haskell. Wood has been the outstanding backrow performer IMO, unbelievable considering he's only had 2 caps.

Agree completely,
A straight swap for Haskell would be best bet,
The back row has performed surprisingly well this 6N so far (I didn't have high hopes with Haskell and Easter in there) but I've been impressed - Hopefully Haskell insistence that he's an openside flanker these days (insisting so much so that he shifted an actual openside to 6) counts against him in that Moody will just drop him from the team

Knowing the way Moody plays though, he'll probably fracture his face playing for Bath

I'd put Moody in at 19. Don't want to disrupt what's been an otherwise strong combination for a player who may not be 100% fit.

Despite being a total lump I think Haskell works at 7 because he's a good connection with the backs. He does have good feet, some pace, and fairly good hands. When he was at his best for wasps he was basically playing like he did against Italy at the weekend. I'd agree with that people are saying, either keep Haskell at 7, or straight swap. Not sure about him going back to 6.

Wood Moody and Easter...there seems something wrong with it.

I rrrreeeaaaallllyyyy hope we see Croft/Wood together in the backrow at some point, but I doubt it'll happen :(

This. Also if Haskell stays in form, he's a better player than Moody. As are Wood and Easter.

I too want to see Croft/Wood.

Is there any nation who doesn't "Raise their game against the English" because of some war which nobody remembers?

Loads. France always bottle it against you, Australia the same and Wales basically bottled out of it for 40 minutes this time around.

Wasn't too long ago; up till recently there were still plenty of people who were directly affected and for us as a small people it is kinda a big deal.

LOL. Should England face SA in the RWC 2011 (my pick for the final; screw the Australasians) all England need to do is apologize (or just actualy recognize) for the concentration camps in the Anglo Boer war and it will take the wind right out of our sails.

really? What have the players on our rugby team (or yours for that matter) got to do with something that happened over 100 years ago? By your logic, the Springboks would be fighting internally with themselves because none of them would be able to forgive & forget apartheid.
