honestly Lawes, Underhill, Simmonds wouldn't be the worst back row
Ludlow not in squad.Ireland literally pooing their pants at the thought of playing a Lawes, Ludlow, Simmonds backrow
Thank God for thatLudlow not in squad.
Sinckler looks to have gone backwards lately. Doesn't seem to do a great deal ball in hand and has been struggling in the scrums. A TH can't be there just because he has a nice late pass. And that new pulling out of scrums habit needs to be broken very quickly.
I think he also looks worse for his casual affectation. Because he looks a bit nonchalant, as soon as his form dips the immediate reaction is that he isn't trying hard enough.
Yeah, he had two in two months... Normally I'd be happy to trust the judgement of the professionals, but I am a little concerned here; the guy sticks his head in some pretty high-impact placesHonestly thought Underhill was done for the season after his latest concussion. We need to be careful with him. Don't get me wrong I'm delighted he's back in the squad as in my opinion he's our best flanker.
They can keep Farrell Snr (for now); we'll take O'GaraI think with Farrell Sr. we have to wait until Jr. is out of the picture, I think a big part of our issues with them came from not being able to decide who our first choice fly half was.
I think many will still feel hurt by the treatment post-2015. Arguably it was correct, they did monumentally **** up in 2015 by abandoning everything they had built in the years before to go for a very basic boshing plan and throwing all the previous tactics out the window to play extremely negative rugby. I think what Jones achieved immediately after shows how close the team were to being a great team but their extremely poor choices in the world cup threw it all away.Different set ups, roles etc, but all of the Eng 2015 RWC coaching team is now in Ireland seemingly doing OK. Farrell and Catt with the national team, Rowntree's just extended his contract to work with the Munster forwards and Lancaster at Leinster. Chuck in Edwards and you've got a good number of English coaches in different aspects working at a good level, extending their horizons and banking some great experience beyond the narrow confines of the GP and HQ.
You can argue this is the kind of broader experience they should have had before getting involved with England, nonetheless they will be very different beasts to 7 years ago. Edwards is the oldest of the bunch at 55 so all have time on their side. Could there be a role for some in the post Jones era?
Only just realised that Andy had Owen at 16.When you look back at it in 2015
Farrell was only 39
Rowntree was 43
Catt was 43
Pretty sure they were on the pitch together for Sarries in an AWC match - though it's possible they missed each other by a couple of minutes (if so, cruel, cruel coaches)Only just realised that Andy had Owen at 16.
