England Six Nations Squad 2012

All this Banahan talk... He was a lock who became a pretty decent AP level winger that was good enough for an international injury crisis. Then some bright spark decided to play him at centre, which is something he's hopeless at, and now his heads mucked up and he can't play centre, winger or lock. He's useless ATM and needs help, his saving grace is that he works hard on his game and isn't a massive bellend.

Leicester did have a mare but I think it would be somewhat shortsighted to drop the tigers players, Ulster were pretty awesome and Irish teams have a habit or running up cricket scores vs English teams at home.

Finally, as for Strettle... I'd rather England didn't play him, Strettle's decent at club level but I've never been impressed with any of his performances in White.

To be fair I do feel sorry for Banahan. Pretty good club winger a season or so ago that could have had a role to play in an England team. Sadly he was played out of position and lost all form. Another England casualty a bit like Geraghty.

It's England: Youngs, Croft and Cole will all start, they'll probably roll out deacon in a wheel chair too.

Youngs is absolute gash at the moment though.
Simpson is out of form atm but would be a better option.

Yes youngs is gash at the moment . Don't think Simpson out of form just think he is playin in front of a very poor pack . Would do much better in front of a good pack going forward . He gets my vote at the moment .

Interesting, I've never seen a scrum-half play well in front of a pack

I'm starting to think Dickson should be our first choice 9. Until one of the others gets their act together. Dickson does what he does well.
Also, I'm starting to doubt whether Simpson really was meant to be a scrum half - he's just a very fast guy with chicken legs who runs around people. He doesn't do the basics as well as Dickson. He's still great though.

Yep. Have you heard we signed this new Koll guy? Namibian lock. another wonderful stab in the dark at trying to solve our forward problems...

Completely forgot Dickson was in the squad!
He'd be my first choice.

If Ben Morgan plays will he be the first player to play for England whilst playing for a Welsh team? I can't think of anyone else

After watching today's Harlequins Gloucester game it has confirmed to me that Turner-Hall nor Marler should be in the sqaud, and Nick Wood definitely should be. Not the best choices ever.

Whilst i agree that Turner-Hall is at best an okay saxons bench player and should not be in the EPS 32. marler is another matter he won a scrummaging penalty around the 69 minuet mark and carried over the gain line and made a fair few tackles, nick wood scrummaged averagely against a traditionaly weak scrummager (johnson) and was completely drained after 60 mins. at the age of 21 marler looked imo more effective during that game then nick wood. I dont understand why so many people think marler is so bad and should not be in the EPS I agree that marler will probably struggle at the start of his full international carrier (against the like of adam jones and mike ross) but it is pretty clear imo that he has massive potential and should be blooded sooner rather then later. Marler certainly looks a lot more promesing then Corbisiero atm imo. Also was it just me or was matt hooper really quite inpressive in that game, if only he could tackle a little stronger.

Yeah I'd agree I don't think Marler's scrummaging is as bad as people make out, but still dont think he'll be ready for international level..

Nope, for some players it's just another bad weekend to add to their growingly frustrating season. We expected a lot of the young players that came together to beat Aus convincingly in the autumn before last to continue to develop, but most have gone backwards considerably.

Which of the young players are you talking about? Most of the team have gone that won 35-18 at Twickenham.

Where do people think JT-H would be in his rugby development now if he had been picked in the EPS originally about 3 seasons ago, as he should have been?
