I too am absolutely stunned that GN10 hasn't heard football fans giving out about rugby. Most of what I've heard is amiable enough, but next I'm expecting him to say he has no idea what a pork pie is or that he's never heard of Morris Dancing. .

To be fair i said (seldom) to flag up it wasn't a defacto It's never happened. :D

Seen a rumour elsewhere that his breathalyzer test was borderline and they're awaiting the blood test.

edit: A rumour from someone I trust who was admittedly none too sure of it themselves.

Still seems a very long bail period for a blood test.

Isn't more than a simple case of drink driving?
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said officers were called to reports of two cars in collision on Imperial Road, London SW6.
There were no reports of any injuries.
"The cars involved were a silver Toyota Prius and a black Mercedes C63," she said.
If Cips was in fault whilst being over the limit...however I suspect it'll take a while for the police to over the incident itself and decide what to charge him for.

On the point of football fans etc.

We had a fantastic time in a pub in Waterloo before heading down to the Premiership final with a bunch of very amiable Arsenal fans who found themselves in the same small lounge bar as us.

Actually had a great discussion regarding the differences in both games and the banter was all in the best possible taste.

Even to the point of involving them in a traditional rugby kangaroo court.

Many football fans are flabbergasted that we all sit together it is inconceivable to them after so many years .

That said I have know and have been around some true "tools" mainly from football but also from rugby.

.

I love this game, but you never (or seldom) here footballers or fans slagging off Rugby - for most I bet it doesn't even register.

Talksport drive time with Adrian Durham and Darren gough the pair of them will only ever mention Rugby Union if it's to have a dig and plenty of people phone up to agree with them.

I listen to that show all the time.

Rubbish! :)

Does anyone know specifically what Leonard will be responsible for?

I certainly think he's the best placed guy to make a big push in urban state schools post-RWC.

not exactly, Beaumonts was a pretty broad remit mainly focused on 2015, so i'm guessing he'll be tasked with building a the legacy post 2015 and maintaining good RFU PRL relationships etc... It's a strange position in someways as i always felt it cross cut Ritchies position quite substantially.

Is Beaumont stepping down as VC of World Rugby?

Did a very rough school near me some years ago at the asking of the games teacher. He just turned up in his tracksuit and got stuck in. They went on to be a very successful schools side even beating Nottingham high school and having some players selected for county. Like you said rats best placed for that sort of work, real legend and world cup winner who likes getting stuck in. Compare him to some of the local footballers who won't turn up unless paid etc gives the sport a real boost.

Good news really Roko probably didn't get selected as it took a while to return to form post-injury. More likely to end up in final squad...I hope.....Roko on wing, Watson on bench covering full-back, no Goode.

Good, he deserved it. Hopefully he makes it into the final squad alongside Watson, Brown, Nowell and Yarde/May.

I don't know whether I'd have picked Wade over him. Rokoduguni is far more likely to start and is much more solid defensively- he kept Savea under control- (Wade's improved tbf) as well as being probably England's only heavyweight winger apart from Yarde.

There we go, I've persuaded myself, of course I would have picked Rokoduguni over Wade.

Happy with that!
Providing he's over his injury, of course, though it seems like he is.

Very happy with that - it does make sense from Strettle's perspective too.
Although I think there was probably a little more pushing than the press release suggests, given what Lancaster said immediately post the announcement he was off to Clermont.

Roko was fully over his injury at the end of the season and in fine form - his work under the high ball was noticeably sharp.

Jason Leonard as President! Now that is good news!!
A firm move away from the old farts in blazers!
He'll be just great in promoting and encouraging younger players.
