England future management?

Ruling yourself out when there's no job or money is totally different thing to when there is.

Can't help but think Baxter and Ford have another job to finish first.

Sky bet have Eddie Jones Fav @ 5/1

Although bookies have no clue
Mike Ford
Jim Mallinder
Conor O'Shea
All up there in the prices.

i get the feeeling Edwards doesn't just want to be a side-kick anymore - thinks he'd only leave Wales to be the boss.

I don't know about that IMO he is ready for a head coach role yet.

I think he should either move for a AP head coach role or go to a Backs coach role and try to widen his range.

Mind you If RFU offer him 250K more than WRFU to do the same role i don't know if he would say no.

Gatland did pick Farrell over him for the Lions.

Paddy power are such trolls Mourinho same odds as Robinson and Johnson. 500-1

Lets just make sure we don't go for an Interim coach and we jump right in with the man we want (Jones).

Ewan Mackenzie is an interesting one - haven't seen him cited anywhere by any betting company or mentioned in the media excep one reference by the telegraph

Has anyone mentioned Vern Cotter? Could be bought out of his Scotland contract too...

Was thinking he might be an interesting choice. Eddie Jones and Jake White has obvious international experience and results, which Vern does not yet have. But because Vern has not yet been there and done that yet like Eddie and Jake have, this could mean Vern might have more drive and determination to succeed on a personal level than the other two.

Plus, Vern does have a very good track record of success and I think as an added bonus, he appears to be a no humour no nonense type of guy that would be grumpy enough to tell the RFU busybodies to get lost and leave him to it.

Yeah I find it strange that he hasn't been really touted at all.
Of course he's in the middle of a contract, but then so is everybody else! This was my point the other dayabout the RFU only being ableto see what's in front of their faces - e.g the face that Gatland Schmidt and Cheika have all beaten us so they become the talked about ones.
Cotter has done a great job with the least to work with, and I just get the feeling he's only not being talked about because he hasn't proved himself by beating England!

OShea and Mallinder peaked a few years ago,
Baxter is a few years away from ready IMO. Would love to see him take charge of the Saxons though. Don't think we need a full time Saxons coach as they only have about 3 or 4 games a year.

The Daily Mail quoted Ritchie as saying that the next coach will have international experience, so whoever they pick will be an improvement on Lancaster (unless it´s Martin Johnson).

It also means that O´Shea is out of it, I bet he would have kept Robshaw as captain. If they fail to get one of the big names, expect them to get either Mallinder or Baxter and claim that they have ´international experience.´

Jones as head coach. Borthwick as forwards. Edwards for defence then an other as attack coach.

Jones is a character who is very quotable, likes to speak his mind, and often comes up with wacky ideas he puts out there. The press would no doubt love him for the material he would provide them, but are people sure that's the sort of head coach they would want? He's also not coached in a major rugby nation since 2009, when he left Saracens in unhappy circumstances as they began their Brendan Venter led South African makeover.

O'Shea was being lined up by Italy as a replacement for Brunel.

Austin Healy
I reckon he could make a good coach, in the same way I think Ben Kay could. They both know a **** load about the game and are excellent analysts and have a lot of experience at the highest level. Healy w/could be divisive though :p
Obviously all hypothetical, though. Don't think either have their sights set on coaching, let alone coaching internationally.

I'd love to get Alex King in as attack coach, but he's the only one I can think of off the top of my head other than Lee Blackett, who is a few years off being int. ready (though I think he will coach for England, in some role, eventually).

I see Alex King get a few mentions but I'm not convinced.
One person I'd like to see considered would be Gregor Townsend. Glasgow are about the best team to watch in the UK. If England started playing like Glasgow I'd be happy!
(That should read for attack coach.)
