England 2024/25

I'd be less less concerned about JEA and Sir Kev than Wiggy and Borth at this stage. Latter because he is ultimately responsible for the whole thing (and managing those prem players with hybrid contracts) and Wiggy because... well, it's obvious isn't it?

Also bit LTTP but let's not put that Beardmore up on a pedestal. Oof.

There are bigger issues but the defence is probably the easiest to fix. That's on JEA.

6N - average 2.8 conceded over 5 games. Only 2 v Ire and 3 away to Fra.

Summer - 2 conceded in each of the 3 games.

Autumn under JEA at home. 8 conceded in 2 games and I'd guess the Boks won't lower that average.

Cips also weighing in on Jones saying he wasn't picked more often because he wasn't afraid to speak up and EJ didn't feel he could bully him.

That's Cips angle, but I can believe that being at least part of the story.

I mean it's debatable if he ever showed the consistent form to be picked, but yeah. I'm sure Jones dumped plenty of guys who wouldn't be bullied.

Steve Borthwick is strongly considering dropping scrum-half Ben Spencer for the South Africa Test on Saturday and could change his full-back too. (The Times)

If anyone wants a laugh from a clickbait article.

Edit: It's a potential 23 if England could pick French based players.

Marchant would surely be centre. Manu would get injured in the first 10 minutes.

Jack Willis makes sense. Certainly make the bench. Yeah Lawes would probably make it playing against South Africa.

Ribbans in the matchday squad.

Farrell would definitely be playing as well.

Lawes has retired and Farrell has taken a sabbatical regardless of location, neither would be playing this weekend even if we opened it up to international players

He went on sabbatical before he moved

These articles just annoy me, they ignore that some players wouldn't be available regardless, and then massively overrates others
Why are we crying about the loss of Dave Ribbans FFS - why are they saying he should be starting for England??

All the rumours coming out of the sarries camp is that the players are all now happier as Farrell has gone.

So guessing it's a good thing Farrell isn't playing international rugby anymore.

I hope it falls flat on its arse, but I can see how it could attract top players especially if they remain eligible for national duty.

In athletics Michael Johnson is trying something similar with his Grand Slam Track. We'll see how that pans out but some big names have signed up.
