The players I wanted to see were Murley, McGuigan and Tizard … all cut.

Part of me hopes that means they'll feature vs. Japan, but then the other side of me thinks we need to build for NZ and SA.

Are we taking bets on how long Tuilagi is going to last ?
It's Eddie's way of being able to select Marchant/Lawrence without losing face. Pick a player with the structural integrity of a Wotsit, then claim your hand was forced when he gets injured.

Yep id have been happy with 16 19 23, they didnt need to start but i did want to see all 3.

Pretty strong starting pack but the bench won't be great.

Pack is bleak, ngl

So is the backline tbf
Well….for all the injuries I think we've got Eddie's first choice XV in there bar perhaps Watson and Lawes. You could argue LCD v George and Binny v Dombrandt but those are marginal calls.

Bench might be a bit weaker than usual.

Irritated that McGuigan's not involved.

Even as a falcon Robinson in over Tizzard and McGuigan NOT in is a puzzle.

Robinson over Tizard is the one the upsets me the least TBH. I'm a big fan of Robinson and I'd back him to do well given the chance.

I suppose JvP over Quirke is just about fair given how well he did in Australia.

Given that I expect him to be one of the TRs it will also have been in Robinson's favour that he covers lock and back row.

Well i just hope Manus hamstring doesnt "unleash"....

Lawes looking doubtful for whole Autumn campaign. Apparently tried some contact a while back, but had symptoms and has only done fitness work since.

This stems from a head knock on 24th September so that's a long time to return, as it was earlier in the year

Sounds like the medics are doing the right thing, but worrying nonetheless.

That's not good at all,
Realistically that sounds like it should be a career ender - still having symptoms this far on, even if you can technically come back from it that's a severe brain injury
The kind of thing where players look back after they've retired and say "Yeah, should've called it a day at that point...and not several concussions later"
