Digby Ioane may miss rest of rwc

Yea, better not come to Australia then. Convicts everywhere. You can't sleep at night without worrying about the threat of being robbed, can't go outside without worrying about being mugged, can't drive in some places due to fear of being car-jacked and you can't can't stay out long after dark because you might get stabbed. ;)

Pretty happy reading this actually, as a NZ supporter. The guys a massive talent and probably one of the most dangerous outside backs going around. All we need is for Genia to pull up lame and Aussies world cup dreams are OVER. Not that anyone in Aussie really gives a sh*t about rugby.

Why would you be happy to see a great rugby player missing a RWC, even if you are NZ? Also if you do want NZ to finally not choke at a world cup, wouldnt you want them to do it against the best and become the best? Also I think if you did the stats, there are 4.2million NZ and 21.5million Aussies, i think atleast 25% of Aussies care about rugby, not every kiwi cares about rugby so its probably the same % of country numbers in each country that love rugby.

I cut my 2 year working Visa in UK short to fly all the way to NZ to see the RWC, so dont say Aussies dont give a sh*t about rugby, at least we can win RWC's and not choke every 4 years.

Jeez. I hate how some people respond to an individual by targeting a collective.

Actually, probably safer in Australia for the next month or so with Quade Cooper in New Zealand.

Hope he makes a quick recovery ontime to play all the matches after Ireland. <_<.

Shame he got injured. The most dangerous runner in the competition if you ask me.

Form an Irish point of view, thank christ. The Aussies are going to rip us a new one next weekend, Ioane would have just made it more embarrassing.

Woah chill bro it's just the internet. It was a joke ... with some partial truth to it so :p The guy is a talent, Genia out would greatly effect the Wallabies (Just as DC would in the ABs) and Aussie care about rugby yes.. after league, Aussie rules, football and cricket. Sheez.

Heineken you better watch out. You'll get grilled for saying such outrageous statements. Anyways it's Genia who is Aussies biggest threat not that show pony Quade Cooper :) still have nightmares about his break in the s15 final and again when NZ and Aus last met *shudders* horrible stuff.

WRONG!!!!

its Aussie Rules, Rugby league , cricket then football...Aussie dont even have a rugby channel:mad:..disssssssssgusting!

I don't know what it is like in your countries. But in Australia most people follow multiple sports. Hardly anyone primarily follows the WTA tour in Australia, or has ever gone to a tennis game. But When Sam Stosur made it through the later stages of the US open, the whole country was watching. (and it was big news when she won today).

Yes, the other sports get a higher live attendance rate. But a large portion of the country support the Wallabies and keeps an eye on their performance's. Same with the socceroo's, the A-League get crap attendances, but the socceroo's have a massive support base and every man + his dog will watch them during the football world cup.

Attendances are not even that good of an indicator. Swimming is one of the most popular sports in this country, yet the attendances are tiny.

All in all, if you think an NRL game is more important to most Australians than the Wallabies in a world cup. You need to visit more aussie pubs and observe a little closer :D

you forgot horse racing and motorsport!. You know the convicts love to gamble and the rednecks love their holdens. Even they out number the rugby supporters in Australia anyway back to Digby. a real shame. honest. and TNT are the Wallabies really getting the same coverage as the NRL with the NRL finals on? spose it depends on the state but I find that hard to believe.

only explanation for lack of tv coverage in australia is..aussies a too busy playing the sport, instead of watching it...thats why they're so good..^_^

we love making kiwis suffer, that's why we only sent them 2.0 Litre commodores :p

Weelllllllllll no but According to official government statistics, in 2005–06, the most popular sports in terms of crowd attendance were Australian rules football, horse racing, rugby league, motorsport, cricket, rugby union and association football in descending order. Basically the most accurate way to measure the most popular sports in Australia is through attendance by non-participants. Of course there will be a spike of interest due to the world cup but overall rugby is nothing. Well it is something after aussie rules, horse racing, league, motorsport and cricket. Proof as above.:D
