So I guess you're a Chennai Super Kings fan...

I'm supporting the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the new kids on the block, the Sunrisers Hyderabad... This year's IPL has been a bit of a downer... not that exciting as it used to be... and the Delhi Daredevils are shocking...

I don't really tend to support a team. I just try to catch a game and cheer for the team which has players in their squad that I like to watch ( Sri Lankan, Windies, NZ and Saffies).

On topic really enjoyed the first ODI NZ -ENG yesterday. Happy for Guptil that he got his century.

Great game by NZ in the 2nd ODI yesterday. Guptil and McCulum secured the deal.

Okay, so the ICC Champions Trophy starts on Thursday with South Africa vs India as the opening match.

I, as a Saffa, am both very excited, and extremely nervous about this tournament. This could just be the tournament to assist our boys in not choking, since it's the only ICC tournament that we have won in the past.

Some great performances in the IPL and in the Pakistan series has given our squad a lot of variety, and the warm-up game vs Holland last week Thursday was also a good time to shrug off some rust. JP Duminy, who hasn't played any cricket since that freak incident during the tour Down Under, smashed 150* against the Dutch in his first game back. We played the game with 3 spinners, with all 3 of the spinners taking wickets.

I am most excited about the 2 newish guys who will make an appearance. Farhaan Behardien and David Miller, both good batsmen and amazing fielders. Miller, who recently made headlines during the IPL after smashing a century off 38 balls, is an explosive batsmen with immense power that can hit the ball a mile. Behardien on the other hand is a bit like Duminy and Amla, wristy, smart and innovative. During the last domestic season, he was one of the top run scorers in the tournament, even though he played 3-5 games less than the other guys due to his Proteas commitment. And he can bowl spin too.

As for our bowlers, well nothing new to report there. Tsotsobe, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Ryan Mclaren and Rory Kleinveldt will do the pace bowling, while spinner Robin Peterson will be our frontline spin option, with Behardien, Faf Du Plessis and Aaron Phangiso will also assist in that Department.

the rest of the team are pretty much the same old guys. With one exclusion, Jacques Kallis. He will not feature for the Proteas in this tournament, as he wants to limit his playing time to extend his career as long as possible.

ICC Champions Trophy started today in Cardiff, India beat South Africa. Hopefully a good tournament will follow after a cracker of an opener.

NZ played well, Windies did well, but unfortunately lost to India yesterday. Today NZ v OZ. Should be a cracker.

Yeah I think the Kiwi's could win this one. The Aussies have been dismal without Michael Clarke.

This tournament has been very good to watch so far.

SA vs. Pakistan was probably the first ODI I have ever seen where the SA spinners bowled better than the Pakistani Spinners. The chokehold the bowlers did in that match against a Pakistani team which beaten them a week before, was great to watch. And the unsung hero was Ryan Mclaren. his first 3 overs were maidens. when he he bowled his 3rd spell he took 4 wickets for 5 runs in 11 deliveries. Absolutely brilliant, and we did it without Dale Steyn or Morne Morkel.

You're wright. So far it has been a real pleasure to watch. Fingers cross the Aussies choke once more. I wonder how this will impact their ashes series.

It's difficult to say. There's a huge difference in Tests and ODI's. The Proteas are a prime example of this.

But if the Aussies Choke today, then it will definitely be a morale dampner. I think the England test team is IMHO in a much better state than the Aussies, and i think the Aussies will struggle during the Ashes.

But getting back to the Champions Trophy. for me, as a Saffa, this tournament is during a very good time on the calender. it's the middle of winter, and the only sport to see on tv usually this time, is Rugby and Golf. No Soccer or Cricket. so it's great to have the addition of cricket to the sporting fans.

David Warner been suspended for a game for an alleged assault on Joe Root. He is being investigated, so be interesting to hear the full story when it comes out.

Hmmm.

Looks like he has a bit of a temper, and this just after the twitter rant he had a while ago.

NZ had a very good first innings taking some early wickets. They have won the game but rain ended the game. Both teams get one point.

According to Nick Hoult, Warner clocked him after an argument over Root wearing a fake beard. Thats insane, I expect him to be sent back to Oz after this, he's got previous after all.

What a comeback by Sri Lanka today. I had my doubts about them as their runrate was a bit lower then requested by Sangakara proved me wrong.

I hope NZ and Sri Lanka are going through. Today Windies - SA. I like both teams but prefer the natural flair of the Windies.

West Indies to win with Pollard smashing a crucial 100 at some point.

Game time. Go Windies, actually the first time i've heard there anthem.

Great first innings by the Kiwi's but England fired back well. Now everything depends on the outcome of todays game.
