The Sunday times reporting that BoJo will announce tonight:

1. Limit of one form of exercise per day will be lifted. Sunbathing allowed as long as social distancing rules are observed.

2. Fines increased for those not observing new rules.

3. Garden centres to be allowed to be reopened from Wednesday.

4. Face masks will be recommended to be worn on public transport and in shops. But this won't be compulsory. My own reading of this is tghat they are depending on the public taking this on and shaming those who don't wear them to abide.

5. New arrivals to UK to self-quarantine for 14 days. Although this looks like it will take effect from beginning of June.

6. new alert system similar to terrorist threat level to be introduced. 1-5. So far we are at level 4 and coming down to level 3.

Rishi to announce more on the Furlough scheme and economic recovery on Tuesday. Looks like phased withdrawal from the 80% paid/£2500 per month and encouraging part time and forcing businesses to shoulder more of the cost. He is "loathed" of the idea of sector by sector application, which would mean hospitality industry will suffer most from this.

The ST are reporting that one Senior official saying the "the public will forgive mistakes made for going into the lock down, but not mistakes coming out of it." That is the current Government's mentality. They know they fcuked up big time and the numbers do not lie. It also reports that Johnson already has his eye on the public enquiry and is "terrified" about what is happening in care homes at the moment.

Of course this Government will cover their arses and deflect onto the R number rising and falling below 1 as much as possible. Even this quarantining of passengers coming in is stinking of a cover their arses measure.

So according to Johnson further easing of the lockdown will depend on the data, except he also gave us dates when they happen. Personally, being cynical about this government in particular, I think the dates will be prime driver, not the data barring a huge flare up in infections.

There is a breathtaking lack of detail.

Playing sports outdoors is only allowed with members of our own household which means we can't meet other family and friends yet. It's not clear when this will be permitted but I would imagine it could be at the start of June when non essential shops and many primary schools may be able to open. Or it could be sooner if they relax more restrictions between now and then.
