back onto african stuff, here's a great Malian duo made into a catchy duo thanks to the midas touch of manu chao: Amadou & Mariam - Sénégal Fast Food[/b]
Tres cool! Really enjoyed that - tricky moral, lovely vid, lively music. 10/10.

I guess a & m are the couple wearing the shades?

Great war song:

I love it when she takes off the headphones. Pity about the voice over at the end.

Makes me think I'm standing on O'connell street in 1916. Wish you lot had hung onto those arseholes in the north, GB & NI is such a mouthful. 9/10.

now we go from a song about Dublin to one about London: Akala - This Is London

Black guys playing guitar - WTF!

Like that, 7/10.

Original of a classic - only the lyrics are different:

Not impressed with the stereotyping - the greatest guitarist who ever lived happened to be black.

As for the song, it's great. I never knew My Way was based off a French song - I think it's better in French, though: 9/10.

Anyway, here's a classic Scottish tune. I don't know if you'll really get it if you don't know Scotland well, but worth a try:

You are of course referring to ... BB King?

Just to be clear, I was pulling the **** out of black rappers/hip-hop types who never seem to pick up an instrument.

Sorry for interrupting the thread.

Sounds good, but it's a dance track - that the French influence? 8/10.

This girl is all over the gossip rags, so what does she sound like ...

Here's a little bit of South African rock. The band being adequately named 'Springbok Nude Girls'.
Nice catchy tune

PS if you're younger than 18 don't look at the related videos section on the right ;)[/b]
Think we had them on the thread already. Grown men wept because they don't do what it says on the tin.

OK tune, plenty of energy. 6/10.

3/10.

f***ing awful, nothing new, just someone trying to sell dreary semi-catchy pop on the back of a sexy image. And FFS she's hardly any better looking than Katy Perry. Well at least you've attatched a career to the woman who's been in thelondonpaper every single day on my way home from work, and like all the other non-achieving wastegash in the paper I've wondered what the f*** she's done to get there until now.

Edit: Jade Goody, Queen of non-achievement, gets a BBC news headline and report because she got married? It's almost not even worth feeling sorry for her having cancer.

Anyway, this song is sad but his imagery is incredible: Yungun - Liquid Love

Sorry to chime in out of the blue.

I give your song a 7/10 because the actual music grated on me a bit, but the lyrics were very well written and I agree with you that the imagery is great. It was sad but hes right onto it I think.

This is one of my favourite songs, dont know if its already been, sorry if it has. Every time I tell someone about it theyve never heard of it.

Wow - that's a find.

Love anything with brass. But it's so weird on top of that. Bit of Islam in there. 9/10.

These lyrics were pointed out to me yesterday - early '80s stuff I'd never really listened to before, but it's the theme tune for destruction of the state by the banks. You've heard the chorus:

The grabbing hands grab all they can
All for themselves - after all

Not my cup of tea, 6/10.

Here'some nice and catchy guitar...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BCoZiSbGtY

You'll notice the offbeat hand clapping which is already out of reach of any western mainstream "artist"...
Btw, the best guitar player wasn't black, or even american, he was probably an unknown spanish gipsy...
