Champions Cup 15/16 - Rd 3 Pool 5 (Bath, Leinster, Toulon, Wasps)

I think Sexton needs some time away from rugby, looks nowhere near himself since the WC. Performance reminds me a bit of Scotland over the last few years, making it a very scrappy game and staying in it.

Stop tackling with his head is what he really needs to do. His career will end abruptly if he doesn't sort out his technique.

Maybe a season in Japan or even super rugby. Try and get him back to his best, esp in Japan where the focus is more on attacking rugby and less on attritional confrontation. Will also earn a nice pay packet for season in the top league.

Habana looks frustrated, trying to pick a fight with half the Leinster backline there - probably cause Toulon are playing like ****.

Crap call from Owens. Really just crap. Never anything near a release

Jesus Sexton is such a confidence player. Can't do anything right when the chips are down for him

It's been Leinster vs Toulon, Nigel Owens and Johnny Sexton this half. They'll **** us out from here. Cullen should really show some balls and get Mads on.

Bloody hell, Sexton can't even make a simple pass now.
Leinster could win this, they just need to replace Sexton ASAP.

If Nadigan had any ambition he'd stay at Leinster and try take Sexton's jersey given how bad his form has been. But of competition might do the world of good for Sexton

Equally, he looks at how bad Sexton is playing yet still clearly the first choice, and think "I'm never getting past golden boy, no matter what happens".

I could see either point of view.

Ala JJ and Keatley at Munster.
I don't buy that this though. Hane again was talented but not nearly the player he and all the fans seemed to think he was. Now he's fulfilling the very same role for the Saints this year when he'd probably have been starting for us this year. Money talks which is fair but to whine about game time was just immature from Hanrahan.

Is Keatley better than him? And did he deserve to start ahead of him for the amount of time he did?

Would JJ really have started against Leicester over say Tyler or Keatley? Really?

Whilst he isn't getting much starting time yet @ saints he is still a new player, whilst @ Munster he had known the system for a bit and still wasn't getting a proper go at it.

That's IMO.

Money helps though.

ROG wrote an interesting piece about this weekend.

Hey Leo Cullen, remember when you captained a team to three Heineken cups in four years and had a pair of balls? (Well one anyway) What happened bro? Why no Mad Dog? Where's Mad Dog?

Yeah he was still a young guy breaking into the scene who actually got decent game time and just had to bide his time like anyone else. Being talented doesn't give you a god given right to start. You earn it and he hadn't done it yet. Bar his Perpingan Magic he was by no means miles ahead of Keatley last year, and I'd know, I watch every match. This season is a different story. We'd try anyone there at the moment ahead of Keatley who's form took a ****, to the extent we're looking at Sexton's 26 year old understudy to replace him.
