Here is a superior highlight package of the first contest.

One hell of a muck up by the US fly half though... pretty much cost them the game in the end. Fairhursts try was fantastic, very clever timing of his dive ensured he'd get over the line.

As my Dad said, "You'd think in a nation of 300 million you could find a better flyhalf than THAT!"

I brought up a question whether that Canada retro top was available for public purchase in another thread (the US license announcement for the RWC11 game), well I found it available online for those that weren't aware but liked the kit:

http://www.koogarugby.ca/rugby-canada-apparel/rugby-canada-retro-10-11-jersey-594.html

But is it just me, or is that not very steep for a jersey? Converted into £s its the dearest jersey I've ever come across, and that's not considered any UK shipping!

Anyways, there it is - will this kit be worn for the 2nd match vs the US or was it purely a one off? It has a certain "class" about it, shame its not the RWC jersey.

Malifa did not play well against Canada and I wonder if he's feeling the pressure to replace a player like Mike Hercus. Hercus is the 20th top scorer of all-time in international rugby, so that's a mighty big hole to fill. The Eagles should play Troy Hall at fly-half to see how he fairs against the Canadian squad as he may provide what they're looking for. Fly-half and hooker are two positions that the Eagles are sorely missing quality players at.

Interesting that Scholz got another start. I wouldn't have objected to Smith starting the game and easing Scholz in around the sixty minute mark (To be honest, Scholz is lucky to be in the 22 after the way he played last week).

Also liking Sinclair in the second row. It'll allow us to keep him on the pitch, while opening up the back row to let Kleeberger in. Having Cudmore, Sinclair, O'Toole, Carpenter, and Kleeberger in 4-8 is about as good as it gets for tier 2 countries.

Hoping for a better effort than what we saw last week at BMO Field.

Go Canada!

I am also surprised about Scholz, maybe he will be on a short leash and we might see Ryan Smith in there at the start of the 2nd if he struggles. 4-8 is exciting me so much on this team. Also a shame about Evans, at least with some nifty shifting the cover for him isn't that bad.

I'm guessing Walsh, Paris, Dala and Kyne may get into the action against the Australian Barbarians or Queensland Reds, if their fitness permits since we haven't seen them in the squad yet.

What kind of a crowd are they expecting for the game? I know capacity is 5,000 and I saw that tickets were going for $10 in advance and $15 at the door so get down there my sourthern friends!!! The cheapest seats at BMO were $20 I think mine were $45 and they were the mid range price.

I have not problem with Scholz playing, i have never been a fan of Smith. Scholz is younger get him game time in internationals. if Smith is our half of our number #1 pairing, that's fine, but we all know what he can do. Scholz needs TI.

As an aside, RC does a very amatuer job on it's website. How hard is it to get the profiles up for the players on the squad. There are a number of "empty" profiles.

Weak RC very very Weak.

Do you know if it is going to be shown on TV again like the match in Canada was?

Yea he played pretty badly, his kicks were brutal. We need Mike Hercus back at fly-half, the current US fly-half is God awful.

22 Tai Enosa (Belmont Shore)

Unavailable due to injury: Troy Hall (NYAC), Brian McClenahan (Olympic Club), James Paterson (Highlanders), Junior Sifa (Unattached), Chris Wyles (Saracens)

They are expecting a sellout(or very close) so a crowd of approximately 4,000 should be on hand, just a reminder to Canadian viewers the game is on TSN2 not the main network which is showing the CFL.

How is it possible to justify starting Malifa at flyhalf again? Last week he had one of the worst games I have ever seen a flyhalf play at test level...

Interesting to see Macdonald get the nod at loosehead, however. From what I have seen over the years he seems to give the U.S.A. scrum a boost, but tires pretty early in the second half. Looking forward to the contest between him and Marshall.

Despite the changes to both sides, I like Canada's chances if they can get back to playing proper at the lineout and breakdown. Hopefully what we saw last week was just an anomaly as opposed to the new norm.

Prediction: Canada by 10

We don't have anyone else that can play that position! Still, I think that was one bad game for him. He'll turn it around.

Here are my thoughts on the Eagles lineup and who might be on the outside looking in at the World Cup.

Prediction: Eagles by 10

Mike Hercus is not retired, he's only 32 and still fit playing in Australia for Gordon RFC. I found that it was just the coach's decision to omit him from the squad, which could backfire dramatically.

Based on the preliminary squad O'Sullivan has selected, here are my XV to try out for tonight's match. They need to play Troy Hall at fly-half tonight to see how he fairs otherwise they may as well just leave him out of the RWC squad.

15 Chris Wyles
14 Takudzwa Ngwenya
13 Junior Sifa
12 Tai Enosa
11 James Paterson
10 Troy Hall
9 Tim Usasz
8 Nicholas Johnson
7 Louis Stanfill
6 Todd Clever (c)
5 Scott LaValla
4 Hayden Smith
3 Shawn Pittman
2 Chris Biller
1 Eric Fry
