As part of their respective RWC warm up schedules, Canada and the United States will be facing each other in a home and away series this August.

Game One August 6th 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time: Canada vs. USA. BMO Field, Toronto Ontario.

Game Two August 13th 9:00 pm. Eastern Daylight Time: USA vs. Canada. Infinity Park, Denver, Colorado.

Both matches will be carried live by TSN in Canada, tickets are also still available for the game in Toronto, (better get mine the Grimsby club was supposed get some on the cheap for me but my friends on the team can't count properly LOL so looks like I will be sitting by my lonesome).

I will post lineups as soon as they are available, should be an intruiging home and way though, the Eagles need to deliver after a brutal Churchill Cup.

I am extremely excited to see these game broadcast, and LIVE. I hope we have a good showing, and can build some interest in the game.

Yeah, it will be great to see those games live ... i'm picking from that jersey that you're not an Oilers fan then :p

Tradition, tradition... tradition.... Crushed about my yearly canoe trip with the old man... It will be a great time, but it means missing out on watching Canada VS USA at BMO field with my boys. This game should be truly heated with some intense rivalry.

It is already guarenteed to be the largest crowd to see a USA vs. Canada match the August 6th game, and Fairhurst better be in the squad!!!!!

no, i am a fan of beating the oilers.......I think we swep you this past season....

 Yep, no doubt ... like all the other teams ... the aim in the NHL is to get the first draft picks isn't it :p

... Now to the rugby - it should be another great game to judge how both teams are placed going in to the RWC ... I guess the States will play their full strength side, unlike at the Churchill Cup

Are these games being broadcasted overseas?

Looks like that's the Yanks best line-up. If I'm Crowley I select:

1) Buydens
2) Riordan
3) Marshall
4) Erichsen
5) Cudmore
6) O' Toole
7) Kleeberger (needs to see action in every warm up game to shake off the rust and get match fit)
8) Carpenter

9) Fairhurst
10) Monro
11) Hearn
12) Mackenzie
13) DTH Van der Merwe
14) Pritchard
15) Evans

16) Franklin
17) Tiedemann
18) Sinclair
19) Dala
20) White
21) Smith
22) Trainor

See what squad members play themselves out of the squad from there. No reason not to start with the best possible side, in my opinion.

Canada yet to name the XV but are favorites to win at hom and indeed should.

The USA have named a strong side, esp in the backrow, secondrow and wings. Both teams will have great backrows and secondrows and it should be quite even here. The USA will need Emerick, Ngwenya and Swiryn to fire. They certainly should be able to given the summer heat that will be in Toronto. Blaine Scully is an interesting one. He´s an All American rugby player, comes highly regarded but is there because Wyles and Paterson are injured.

Supposed to be 38 C with humidity on Saturday but may be slightly tempered by cloud cover and BMO field being closer to the lakeside.

Agree with the lineup CDN_rugby that should be a squad to excite a big turn out crowd as well, I'm wondering why Crowley is waiting so long, perhaps someone is on the cusp of being unable to play due to injury.

And just printed off my ticket!!!!

I'm not ready to say that is the Eagles best lineup but it is still a good one. Scott LaValla was a monster at the Churchill Cup and he isn't even in the 22. Plus, I think our wings will only get better when Wyles returns. It should be a good match. Here is my breakdown.

I think the split the series 1-1. It will be good to have the U.S. and Canada play every year. At least then there will be consistent test matches each year. Check out this post, it's an American take on the Canadian Rugby Championship.

Could be a split, but not the way most think it will go... Canada will be lacking any sort of desire or drive to come full-out versus the States in game 1, will probably be over-confident and once they realize it's not going the way they've planned, will press but come up short - Game 1 : USA 25 CAN 17. Game 2 Canada will be ******-off, they'll play well and get into a scoring groove, the better cardio will also show - Game 2 : USA 18 CAN 38. Always brutal games with these two countries, really looking forward to it to say the least.

The Canadian lineup has been named today, and Crowley has opted to field arguably the best team possible. Scholz has been given a chance to start over Hearn which I'm guessing was based on Churchill Cup form, as well Pritchard is on the wing, while Evans is at full back. Cudmore also is in at 4 as opposed to his more usual 5. Kleeberger hasn't had much time on the field recently due to injuries and it looks like he will be eased back into action by coming off the bench. And of course His Edness is starting at scrum half!!!! Ed Fairhurst will also be worshipped by all in attendance as he is celebrated before the match for earning his 50th cap vs. Russia at the Churchill cup. After seeing the lineup I am really excited about the game on Saturday, should be a great contest.

For those wondering Rugby Canada is expecting a crowd of 10,000 although in the last spring tour they underguessed the attendance at both games. If you want to go to the game they are worried about a large line at the will call area, as well walk up crowds could be large, so try and print your ticket off. And just off of TSN.ca there are reports that Canada will face Italy next summer at BMO Field!!!!

The game will be broadcast live on TSN for those in Canada, as well Universal Sports and UniversalSports.com will carrying the games for the American audience(not sure about worldwide availability)

7 nil to Canada after 7 minutes (Try to Sinclair, converted by Pritchard) ... both forward packs are fired up for the match

The State get a penalty for player not rolling away at the tackle , which is kicked by Nese Malifa 7 - 3

15 mins gone ... the Canadian fullback, Evans, is replaced by Hearn, due to injury ... the game is a little scrappy, Canada, in particular, are making a number of errors

24 mins ... Takudzwa Ngwenya scores a try for USA which is converted by Nese Malifa 10-7 to USA

28 mins the Canadians are penalised again, Nese Malifa has a shot at goal, which goes wide ... Canada gets a warning for repeated infringements from referee, Mark Lawrence

34 mins ... Todd Clever scores in the left hand corner for USA, Nese Malifa has a difficult conversion from wide out, which he misses ... 15 - 7 to the states

38 mins ... James Pritchard kicks a penalty for Canada, after USA are penalised for a scrum infringement

half time - USA 15 - Canada 10 ... both sides are guilty of making basic errors, but Canada seems to be making more, and they need to sort out their line out too

44 mins ... try to Canada (Phil Mackenzie) after a mistake in clearing, Pritchard converts Canada 17 - USA 15

46 mins Canada penalised for hands in the ruck, which Andrew Suniula fails to kick from right out in front

48 mins ... Canada penalised again ... the US opt for kicking for touch, Chancy O'Toole breaks out for Canada

54 mins ... Pritchard kicks another penalty, after the US get penalised for going off their feet Canada 20 - USA 15

58 mins ... ED FAIRHURST!!!! scores a great solo try for Canada, which Pritchard fails to convert from the side line

60 mins ... Chauncey O'toole has another great run which ends in the US 22 ... I don't know what was said at half time by coach Keiran Crowley, but Canada are a different team ... Canada 25 - USA 15

74 mins ... Canada survive a period of sustained pressure on their own line

Todd Clever scores his second try of a pass that may or may not have been forward, converted ... Canada 25 - USA 22

6 mins left to play ... penalty to Canada after a penalty infringement ... Pritchard kicks ... and ... he gets it! Canada 28 - USA 22

25 seconds left ... USA penalised for hands in the ruck, Canada kick for the line and almost score from the lineout ... Full time

Canada 28 - USA 22

Great 1st half from the US, too many mental errors in the 2nd half (silly penalties, that Canadian try right at the beginning of the 2nd half, not taking advantage of opportunities at the goal line) to come out with the W. Hopefully they can clean up those errors next week.
