National anthems at the boxing?
AJ is IBF CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!!!! And from my home town of Watford. .
Martin - what a chump though. No wonder he had to come here to make a name for himself. He won't be known in his own country and now he's going back after being out on his backside twice.
Lol of butthurts crying about early stop.
He didn't look like a world champion, it's time for AJ to get in with the world class guys now. It will be very interesting who his next opponent is.
Reckon it will be the winner of the Parker/Takam fight (IMO Parker)
Joshua V Parker would be a hell of a fight IMO and a good indicator where each fighter really is.
Fury won't be for at least another year (If Fury lasts that long)
Joshua should fight either - Wilder or Parker next IMO
Then - Haye
Then Fury
Parker won't last 3 rounds against AJ and should be looking to fight someone of whytes calibre.
AJ needs a few more fights before Wilder and Fury but you have to say it's hard to see anyone slowing him down if he keeps his head and his fitness.
Heh.
Well Parker fights Takam next who is a better fighter than Whyte - and has a better resume than Martin.
I have AJ slightly ahead of Parker in terms of development (he is three years older...) - and I'd like Parker taking a few more fights before fighting AJ - but Parker is a much better fighter than Charles Martin (who never beat anyone of note except Glazkov - by self injury...). It will be a great showdown. Parker is much faster but I think AJs power and size will make it very tricky. Parker especially needs to work on his defense and patience.
Watched a few old classic fights from the 90s and 00s on YouTube, when I did not have sky:
Tyson v Lewis. Lewis just dismantled Tyson in this matchup. Again a good big 'un will prevail over a small good 'un.
Remember Bowe refusing to fight Lewis. Bowe had a crazy promoter who throw the belt in the bin on TV. Crazy days the 90s.
Watched that one in Greece, after an entire day/night out, and in to the morning. Was brutal.
Lewis could have finished him at any time, but left him standing so he could hurt him. The s**t that had been spouted made me want to see him get punished, but Lewis took it to such a level that I was actually feeling sorry for Tyson at the end.
On the present fighters, I get the feeling that Fury would rely on his (ridiculous) speed for a big man to stay out of AJ's reach, but from what I've seen, Fury doesn't have any power himself, and if he pushes his chin out, then AJ is just going knock him out with one punch.
